Great spot to spend the night if have plans Upcountry the following day. I really listed this to provide legal camping for the Vans that are being rented on an island that has virtually no legal commercial camping sites to go to. My space is for those conscious and caring of our rich culture and our islands fragile ecosystems; those with the attitude of “this is America and I go to and take what I want” will not feel welcome and are advised to book elsewhere or please cancel your trip to Hawai’i all together. A lovely secluded and quiet spot in upcountry. Eric is very responsive. There is a spigot right under a mulberry tree! Because it's in upcountry, sleeping at night is really nice as it gets cool. Great location too for exploring upcountry or the center of the island. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at Eric’s property! He greeted us upon arrival and was very welcoming. We enjoyed waking up to a beautiful sunrise and the call of the roosters in the morning. Would recommend!

The views are great and Eric was responsive and gave us very clear directions to get there. The site is also reasonably close to the airport, which was a plus for us arriving in the evening, but still far enough that we didn't feel like we were in the city. That being said, I felt like this place was way overpriced for what we got. It's literally just a place to park, within sight of several houses (could see into the neighbors' windows) around piles of construction materials, with access to a water spigot.
Eric was very clear that he wanted nothing left behind (including poop!), and considering there were zero amenities (like trash cans or pit latrines or even a picnic table), it was kind of crazy what we paid. We felt this especially after we compared it to the experience we had a few days later at a fully-stocked campground with toilets, showers, and beach access in Olowalu at almost half the price! I guess we paid for the peace of mind that we had a legal place to stay, but it's hard not to feel ripped off when there were other legal places to camp with more to offer at a much more reasonable price. Not sure where the money is going since there's nothing to clean up, but I hope Eric uses it to add some amenities like a picnic table in the future!

Eric was an incredible host! Very welcoming and I would 100% stay here again.
Eric's land had amazing views especially during sunset. The land itself was perfect for the jeep we rented with a roof top tent. The space was very large. Eric gave us some fresh eggs from his farm which we had for breakfast along with some fresh mulberries and lettuce he let us pick from his property. It was a wonderful stay.

We rented a campervan on Maui only to find that all but two campgrounds were closed due to Covid, and those two were booked. Eric’s camp space saved the day! No amenities, but a nice spot in his rural “backyard” in Upcountry. Fun to feed the chickens!
Be prepared for the lack of amenities but this spot has a gorgeous view of the sunset and a very helpful and welcoming host. Would stay again.
Eric was a great hospitable host. Super communicative and helped us out when we were in a bind. Couldn't be more thankful for that. We had a great conversation and he gave us awesome insights into the island and our travels. Solid dude! Solid sunset! If you're hungry, venture out to Thai Mee Up foodtruck nearby and get the chicken satay! Can't go wrong!
Thanks Eric!
Great views from the property! Close to the NP entrance. Eric was a great host.
