This little cabin is affectionately named the Starpod for its five sides. It sits under lemon eucalyptus and cypress trees. Because of our proximity to the ocean and the way sound travels across the lava, you can often hear waves at night. Just outside the door are mulberry trees where you can pick fresh berries when in season. The Starpod also looks out into our citrus orchard. When the trees are in bloom, the smell of the orange blossoms is intoxicating. You'll often see Monarch butterflies flitting about since our butterfly garden is near the Starpod as well.

You'll have access to the guest bathroom which is a short walk away as well as our outdoor kitchen which is about 200 feet away towards the front of the property. We have a worktrader who lives here a good part of the year and he uses the kitchen as well. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, plates, bowls and utensils as well as some basic essentials like salt, pepper, cooking oil, and some spices. We have tons of fresh herbs growing that you're welcome to use. Though we are new to Hipcamp, we are not new to hosting visitors. We've hosted dozens of people over the years from artists to musicians to tech people wanting some quiet. We are also travelers, ourselves. We live here on property and are here to answer any questions should you need something.

Kehena beach is a short drive away where you will sometimes see wild dolphins swimming in the bay. We are about a 25 minute drive from the only geothermally heated pool in the islands. The closest town of Pahoa is about 10 minutes away. Just around the corner is Uncle Roberts Market where a farmer's market happens every Saturday morning. Here you can find local produce, freshly baked goods, arts and crafts and listen to live music.
