Captain's Cabin
Despite having a shared kitchen and bathroom it felt very private. Don was a great communicator and provided a very detailed document of everything we might need to know (in addition to greeting us on arrival).
The location turned out to be further from Pahoa than I thought, which made for some extra driving each day, but it is a very cool corner of the island we may not have otherwise visited but I am glad we did. The nearby black sand beach (Kehena) was our favorite beach of the whole trip, and the Hot Ponds made for a wonderful rainy day activity.

Bamboo bungalow
Don's camp was a great place to stay, don and his caretakers are all very nice and answered all our needs, he upgraded our cabin to the larger one which worked out for us. Don's camp is real close to Seaview and the hot ponds which is perfect for people who are experiencing the island for the first time

Loved this serene & cozy cabin
Super peaceful, adorably decorated, serene escape right next to the new black sand beach and hot pond/thermal pools. There was a few glitches- we didn’t have internet due to a broken router, and some electricity issues, but in the end it was just a really beautiful getaway. Host was available quickly and helpful- cabin is stocked with everything you need (minus a fan which he made available to us when we asked- and it made the last night even better) Would definitely recommend this place for a solid, comfortable camping experience. Hope to be back!

A Must Visit!
Absolutely loved our stay on Don’s property. We had trouble finding it due to the lava destruction but Don guided us through it and was amazing help. The community showers were so refreshing after exploring. The amenities provided just made this place over the top. Grateful we came across this hidden gem! Will be back no doubt!

Camp near Hot Springs
Beautiful isolated little cabin, with everything needed to survive, cook, clean. The running water wasn’t working when I was there though, so I hope that they get that properly functioning in the consistent future, so I’d recommend making sure that the running water is working before booking your stay, if running water is necessary for you.
Other than that it was in a lovely location next to precious healing hot springs and beautiful beach scenery, such as Kehena black sand beach, not too many beach areas to swim in though in this area, kehena is the only sand beach close by but the waves are pretty strong, not for the inexperienced. All in all The cabin was perfect, and the hosts are really nice, present people. You will feel isolated the whole time you’re inside the cabin!!!!

Beautiful Jungle Paradise
This place was literally the best! It was such a magical experience being in the jungle with all the frogs and the cabin was perfect. The bed was very comfortable and the closed in deck was great for coffee in the morning. Our host was great and we loved meeting all the other campers there and making a new Ohana for our trip.
The site was so close to being covered in the lava flow from the 2018 eruption that the road is a little obscured, but the location being so close to the Isaac hale Black sand beach and the hot pots can't be beat.
10/10 would recommend staying here, and next time we come to the big island we will definitely be back! Thank you for having us :) Mahalo!
