Great family time
Overall a great place for family. Not what I thought it was going to be. I thought the land was more on the private. You are on a main road. Host is very nice. We are used to boon docking in the middle nowhere. Flys are horrible! With that said it is a farm . All in all not my cup of tea but great location. Can’t really complain. Had a good time with family.
Horse farm in the appalachians
The hostess was friendly and met me on Anna made sure I had everything I needed and gave me my privacy. The location is very beautiful located at the foothills of the Appalachians.
Anna was very responsive to our messages and met us upon arrival to lead us to one of two sites, by the creek or across the road near the horses. Our site near the horses had one picnic table and one round stone table, both were okay but in need of repair. The site was level and free of stones or debris. There was a stone firepit as well as an above-ground metal firepit.
We fed the horses some carrots and could hear them snorting and eating at night (but did not wake us up). Her very friendly dog also came by in the morning to say hello and see if he could find any scraps around the campsite.
The portapotty was clean and well-stocked, about 100+ yards away. There was a hose just across from it for bathing or filling your water bottles.
It was a pleasant experience overall and I would recommend it.
Stayed at White Dog Farm for a second time and still love it. Host Anna is such a kind and warm-hearted person, and the camping spots are at a little creek with a fantastic energy about them. There are lots of animals at the farm and we just love it. Great hikes in the area too, cannot recommend this place enough
