We really enjoyed our stay at Loras! Many places to pitch a tent, freezer areas for a small trailer, like we have. The fire pit area was great and right by the bend of the little creek. Lora greeted us and even had a portable John setup with all the necessities—a nice added touch!
15 Acres with a Pond and a Creek was the perfect setting for a camping retreat. Private, quiet, relaxing and peaceful! The Honey Hole, site #2, was amazing. We set up our tent and built a fire right alongside the creek, and got a chance to tour the property and fish in the pond the following morning. It does get a bit chilly at night this time of year, but an otherwise wonderful experience. Ideal location for sleeping under the stars and super close to Dahlonega, several wineries & vineyards as well as great hiking spots. Most notably, Lora was a fantastic host! Friendly, extremely helpful and a very responsive & great communicator!
15 Acres with a pond and creek was an amazing fellowship for me and my two friends. The host Lora was very friendly and helpful. The directions to the site were spot-on, and the campsite was just beautiful. We loved the sound of the bugs with the crackling sound of our fire all night. Thank god we put the rain fly on our tent as soon as we got there !
The only problem with this trip is that we didn’t stay longer!
Peaceful and nearby
Very peaceful and quiet. Feels very rustic yet only 3 miles from town. Lora is wonderful and very helpful. Great for tents, truck camping and smaller Class B RVs! My Mercedes Sprinter 170 fit fine.
Lora is a wonderful host! She does a great job answering all your questions and making sure you have everything you need, while also letting you enjoy her property in peace. This place is close to a lot of great hiking spots, and we will definitely be coming back!
A wonderful mountain retreat!
Beautiful, private, (yet easy to get to) place to truly enjoy a relaxing time immersed in nature. We went to sleep talking about the lovely sound of the bubbling creek & then woke up to it; with a light, misty mountain fog. Really nice. Quiet, too. And Lora is so nice & helpful. I recommend 100 percent. Relaxing & beautiful!
A great labor day stay by the pond!
Lora was a great communicator and super friendly. The site was right by the pond and had plenty of space for my car, tent, campfire, and then some. I would highly recommend her as she takes your safety and comfort seriously.
This property was just perfect, and we really enjoyed meeting Lora! She was very communicative and helpful.
We got the site near the creek and there were a few options for where we could pitch our tent–we ended up choosing a spot a little further back from the road, which wasn't right next to the fire pit, but was very close. We could hear the creek babbling by the fire pit and at night while we were in the tent.
Vogel State Park's hiking trails were about half an hour away, wineries were 5–10 min away, and we found a watering hole to swim in just about 20 min away.
The location was perfect, the property was beautiful, and Lora was great–I highly recommend camping here!
My girlfriend and I had a great experience here. Lora was very kind and super responsive. We had site 2 and it was beautiful. You are close enough to the road to hear passing traffic (which shouldn’t be a surprise if you look at the site), but the road was low traffic enough not to be a nuisance. It rained a fair amount while we were there and the site drained very well. Overall, we are very pleased with the whole experience and would highly recommend.
