Pitch a tent or primitive camper on 15 acres of cypress swamp OR use our on site 36ft camper that sleeps 10. Horseback riding available for groups of 2 or less (more available with notice). Miles of improved trails and small paths through pine hammock and back country. On site archery and shooting range (bring your own equipment). 50 mins from Savannah or 20 min from several local rivers.
Sites 1, 2, and 3 are primitive tent camping. We have electric hookup at one RV site when the weather in right. You're always welcome to boondock your RV.
Site 1: Very wooded but nicely cleared areas for tents. You can drive up to this site. We built a primitive shower on a small deck for cleaning up. Water is available just a short walk from this location.
Site 2: Better suited for larger groups. You could probably park 3 to 4 large vehicles here and still have plenty of room to camp. It's not as secluded but definitely a wonderful location. This site can be used easily with larger RVs that want to bring their own power and water.
Site 3: Is located directly before the river crossing and is great for a small group of 3 or 4. Has a dedicated fire ring and is very quiet. You cannot drive up to this location. It is a walk in site.
We have an RV site available in the drier months. It is located in our small horse paddock next to the shop. It has a 30 amp RV hookup and a hose can be run for you if needed for water. It can be tricky to back up larger campers to this location so use at your own risk if you have a big rig.
Our location is South Georgia location on and near very swampy areas. Bugs can be troublesome during certain times of the year. It's nothing a little deet can't solve. We also provide tikki torches to help this issue. The only toilet on the primitive sites are a small camper potty that can be delivered and handled for your comfort. There is a primitive outdoor shower that can also be filled upon request for no additional charge.

Had an excellent time at Misty Oaks. It was very private, which is what I always look for. I met Dean and his wife, they were very nice and made sure I had everything I needed. Including firewood and farm fresh eggs. Whenever I am in the area I’ll stop by Deans! Thanks for everything!
I booked fairly last minute and Dean was super communicative and flexible. I was booking from my phone (for the first time) without great service, so I wasn't able to see any specific directions from Dean regarding the Google maps errors (it directs you to another property in the area). I didn't have service at that point (T Mobile), but was able to figure it out based on the address. I arrived at night which was tricky, and couldn't really tell where to go, but eventually found some service in order to call. Dean and his wife were very hospitable and set up tiki torches for me to see by at the campsite, which was a really nice touch. They also provided firewood and eggs! Dean and his family close by down the road. One thing I realized the next day is that the bathroom situation wasn't really explained, and though I don't have an issue peeing in the woods, since I didn't have service to ask, this could have been a tricky situation. So just make sure to check. The only warning I want to share about the property is that I was awoken (not super early) by the sound of gun shots in the area. Someone hunting or just messing around (it didn't sound like a hunting rifle, more like a shooting range situation). You have to comfortable with that potential, as for the neighbor's confederate flag (the neighbors themselves waved kindly to me in the morning). We're all comfortable with different things, and symbols hold different meanings. I respect that, but also want to share my experience. All in all, Dean was kind and accommodating and the campsite is small but perfect for an overnight stay.
Very beautiful land!! Awesome hosts!! Helped us out with everything we needed wood, eggs, tourist info, outside shower!! It was great!!
We had a terrific weekend at Misty Oak. The Coffman family is very attentive to their guests needs. They showed us around the property and even brought us fire wood ! We loved the shooting and archery range and can't wait to return.

So great to have y'all out. When you decide to come back we can do a no cost guided horseback riding trip for you. We are very excited for new upgrades and amenities coming soon! Please come back and visit any time.

Thank you so much for your kind and helpful review! Mr. Willard and his wife live at the end of the near a half mile past the gate and are civil war history buffs(Actually recent transplants from Ohio). Its not uncommon to see them out at the local Forts or historical sites. This might explain the flag as they have always been so warm and welcome to everyone (practically family these days). As for range! Yes I will absolutely update the listing to explain this. Our property line is shared with Fort Stewart and there is a range many miles up the road. The locals, even in town, just get used to I guess. They don't use it often but it is a possibility :) thank you again for staying with us and we would always love to have you back if you ever get more time!
