It is a beautiful piece of property. It is quiet, serene and away from traffic and city noise. We stayed three nights.

Cost wise-most expensive site we’ve stayed in since leaving California, mostly due to the Addition of the HipCamp fee.

However, it isn’t set up for big rigs (42’). The road we were told to enter (Gate 3) was very steep and deeply rutted due to rains in the last week. The road had to be pickaxed, shoveled away, and compacted while we waited on the edge. Once it was a little more level, we slowly moved forward hoping we didn’t tilt over. Bill and Billy worked hard to get us in. But, If you aren’t suited for big rigs, just say so. The showers were having plumbing issues. I’m not sure if they were resolved during our stay or not. Somehow I missed the no sewer entry. Once at our site, it took lots of discussion on how we were turning our rig around to leave and how we were going to get out. There’s no way our rig would have made it up the way we came in. We opted to go across the spillway. It was the only choice. We left our marks in the concrete but we got out.

We chose to rough it and pitch a tent for a few nights and it was amazing! We were in primitive 2 I believe; it was nice and secluded. A bathroom was available with a shower which was a plus! There were also multiple electrical outlets and water spouts all throughout the property which is good if those are needed. There were 2 big pavilions as well for bigger parties.
All in all, the property was managed very well, clean for the most part and the host Mr. Bill was alway accessible.

We had an amazing time at Brooks Lake! Our host was super friendly upon arrival, he forgot to mention a Connected Camping Event I believed it was called where some odd 100 campers were in attendance. He apologized where he didn’t need to and put us in a more primitive spot to be away from any noise they might make but that’s exactly what we were looking for in a campsite so it worked out perfectly.

The host only spoke to us to show us the facilities accessible to us, to show us our amazing campsite and once when we ran into him while we were out fishing by the entrance of camp because it was all accessible to us! He let us have our space and us his!

Every once in a while you find a place that reminds you of the camping you did as a kid. You know , when camping was the whole adventure , swimming , fishing , cooking and campfires. This place has all of that. Very quiet and relaxing weekend . Our AC decided to have issues and I told Bill the manager we would have to leave early and he brought a portable ac down which allowed us to stay and enjoy our time. Beautiful sunsets , quiet , and a GREAT manager. Bill thank you so much for all you do we will be back.
