South Georgia at its best! Down a dirt road through a rusty gate, big night skies and quiet you can feel. We have 160 acres out in the sticks with the Satilla river, Altamaha river, Okefenokee Swamp, Cumberland Island National Seashore and the Golden Isles beaches nearby. We have several listings on Hipcamp including tent camping, private screened huts, several RV hookup sites and we use a per person fee to not exclude solo travelers so check out the options. This is a working small organic farm with lots of noisy free range birds and rough edges so dogs need a leash 24/7 and sorry no kids under 12. A couple free eggs and small portion of veggies/herbs is almost always available. Guests can stay private or share common spaces but either way a respectful, clean up after yourself, lets talk about traveling/rivers/farming attitude is expected. Absolutely no politics. Simple common kitchen with wood stove, common fire pit with firewood, outdoor hot and a cold shower, outhouse, a dock by the pond and better than 2 miles of hiking trails make it work. Paddlers that have their own boats can talk to us about shuttles. Come check us out Y'all!

Best hipcamp experience!
Tracy is a great host! This is the kind of hip camp we hoped to find. The communal fire pit and kitchen fosters a sense of community, and the host’s easygoing attitude adds to that. In addition, Tracy showed us around the garden and offered us fresh eggs and greens. Apparently great places to paddle and hike nearby and on the property, but we didn’t have time to check it out. It is off the beaten path, but feels very safe and secure. Will 100% be stopping here again on our next road trip :)
Hipcamp camping at Catawba Organic Farm is excellent. Soon after I arrived, Tracy gave me a tour of the place. The work they’ve done, and plans for the future are impressive. Tracy and his wife are down-to-earth, hospitable people and made me feel welcome. They have a great place for camping, be it a tent (which I had), a van, or an RV. I love the farm aspect, including the chickens, rooster,… A pond provides a nice place to sit and reflect, and be sure to take the 1.5 mi loop trail in the woods behind the house.
great place, very quite at night. the place is very well equipped, beautiful shower place, clean outhouse, small but pretty lake, garden, hiking trails, enthusiastic and cool hosts. would recommend. the host is also looking for work-stay people
Great land! Flat, open sites great fir car camping, but plenty of trees to enjoy. Zero light pollution -- I haven't seen stars like that in a long time.
The facilities were as advertised, and it was totally private as I was the only camper.
Good host . Had a campfire started for us when we came in the evening! Gave us a nice tour of a beautiful homestead. We would go back again! Michael and kathy
Farm camping: georgia style
Tracy and his farm are full of personality. I am grateful I stumbled upon it for a last minute one night stay that turned into two nights because I knew there was more to explore here. The camping area is situated in a clearing on the side of the property. There is a huge fire pit and plenty of fire wood that is generously provided. There is a covered pit toilet, outdoor showers, and communal kitchen if needed. There is also a beautiful pond as well as all the workings of a full farming operation that they are building out.
Tracy is full of stories from his traveling days and is proud of everything they have going on at the farm. Ask him to show you around and he will jump at the chance, or if you want to experience some “Georgia Quiet” as he calls it, this is a great place for that too (apart from the roosters that is). The location is somewhat remote but there is nature of all kinds to explore around the area and beautiful coastal towns within driving distance.
This is a unique and authentic farm camping experience full of character and characters. I hope you have as much fun here as I did.
Better than any airbnb, visit here!
Wonderful, calm, quiet, peaceful and welcoming.
Tracey was very helpful, friendly and genuine. Would reccomend this to anyone who wants a great spot off the hustle and bustle where you can center and ground in a marvelous and beautiful location.
I was traveling from Philly to Florida. I stopped here for the night. Wow! This is well set up. The outhouse was super clean and well supplied. The fire pit is Huge and plenty of fire wood available. A little dock you can fish off of. The house is in view, but was fine. The best for me was the nice hot outdoor enclosed shower with the open vine covered roof by the house, which also had supplies if needed. That was perfect!!!!! You can go thru a few before you find the really good ones, this is a really good one, and cost me $13 bucks, WHAAAAAATTT?!!!!
