Great stay! We loved the stay here, there was a lot of open space and privacy. Once we arrived we were greeted by a donkey and horse. There was so much wildlife, we had wanted to stay in the springs campground but it was full! I think that this is a better stay because of all the wildlife we did see if that is an attraction for you One thing to note is that there is a lot of wildlife and animals out here that was not posted in the discription. So be aware when booking. There is not a gate arround the tent sight to keep the horses out and at one point in the night we were awoken by the horse and donkey standing over us. So if animals and livestock roaming nearby scare you this is not the place!
Plenty to do while your out there! Shaded area really comes in handy when you are stuck out in rainy weather. The ponds on his property made for great fishing as well. I woke up from a night of camping and the first thing I did was hook into a couple of bass. 10/10 recommend
Beautiful property, easy access, and the hosts were available if needed. Stayed here in my van while exploring nearby rainbow river and springs! Would recommend for anyone needing a place to stay in the area.
Spacious and private. A nice place to relax after a day out on the water-the swing is a nice touch. Pole barn was great for the rain. So convenient to have a sink and kitchen prep area. Would return!
Safe, private, perfect solo camp
I mostly travel alone and it can be difficult to find a peaceful place to camp that allows you privacy but also a feeling of safety. I was traveling for Easter and I didn’t think that anybody would be open for a Hipcamp, but this property and the owners were amazing and accepted my request quickly. We communicated a few times via text before I got there and they made sure I had great directions and everything set up that I might need when I arrived. They already had the fire pit built up for me and plenty of firewood chopped up, but I over estimated my ability to start a fire so I texted them and they came back and helped me to get my fire started so I felt like I had my real camping experience. The camping portion is tucked back on their property but you feel like you have a whole place to yourself. There’s lots of overhanging trees and it’s right next to a lake and the barn is adorable and set up with a porch swing and a sink. It is rural and well-kept and I felt very safe back there due to the property being fenced off. I really wish I had had time to spend more than one night there because I would’ve loved to canoe in the lake and walk around the property and just enjoy the beauty of the nature that’s back there. I would highly recommend this to anyone camping alone or even camping in a group as there’s a lot of space and it feels very private. When the host came out to start the fire, she said not to be surprised if the donkey came back to where I was at some point (which it didn’t), but I loved being on a farm and I would love to come back here and stay a few days and just escape from the world. Thank you so much for your hospitality and help. I had a great time!
