If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
This spot was beautiful! Donna gave us very clear directions on how to find the property and also told us which was her favorite. We put our tent right by the open field and there was a nice little set up for the campfire already there!
My mom and I camped for 3 days. Pure bliss--a magical oasis.
John is the most welcoming host with genuine hospitality. He was generous with sharing information about local activities and natural wonders to explore, and graciously lent us an extra coffee mug when we needed. The property has plenty of privacy, with a diverse abundance of tree life, fireflies, birds, natural beauty, and space to walk and explore. If you are a nature lover this place is for you!
Great long weekend camping!
What a great camping weekend we had! John was most welcoming and provided firewood and hospitality. Our site was situated for a great view of the land while also nestled by some tree for shade coverage. Our pups enjoyed running around. We would definitely camp here again!
Had a great time camping for a night at John's place! So much land to roam around with your dog (mine loved it!). Very private too. You can hear cars on the road nearby, but otherwise a perfect camping trip! Hope to make it back soon.
Perfect one night stay :-)
Great convenient camp. Easy to get to. Nice set up with a fire ring, logs etc.
It’s not far off the road so you will hear a little bit of road noise - otherwise really peaceful an great place to camp!
Florida at its finest
Wyatt Earp at the Hideout was so much fun. My whole family enjoyed the brisk weekend weather and the picture perfect Florida Scenery that is so hard to find today. This is a little piece of Florida history we’re not likely to get back. I highly recommend.
Love this property! a+
Me, my brothers, and several of our friends reserved all four campsites on John’s expansive and beautiful property! We spent Memorial Day Weekend on his 600-acre property celebrating my brother’s bachelor party and we had a blast. Everything exceeded expectations and John was super helpful and welcomed us with open arms. He set up a space for us far back in the property so it truly felt like we were alone in the woods. Huge widespread fields and towering mossy trees surrounded us without a lick of civilization in sight — just what we wanted! And yet, just two minutes away is a grocery store, a Circle K, a liquor store, and some other essential stops. So if you forget something, one of these places will surely have it. One afternoon we all walked around all the trails John created and had such a fun time seeing all its features. It’s beautiful, John is great, and we highly recommend this Hipcamp to anyone looking for an isolated camping experience with lots of space and lots of natural beauty.
We were the only campers for the night so we had the whole area to ourselves. The property is stunning and John was a very gracious host. I know the area seems a little out of the way but if you’re using Highway 301, this is a 9 mile detour you won’t regret. Our only wish was more time there.
Wyatt earp campsite hosted by john
From the moment we enquired about this campsite we received nothing but immediate replies from John T. My wife and I travel more than the average and we have encountered many situations of hospitality, both good and bad. John has been one of the top 5 hosts we’ve been privileged to be hosted by and we cannot express our gratitude enough for him making our 3 night stay beyond comfortable. His property is gorgeous, we felt so safe and he visited us occasionally to make sure we were happy. I would encourage anyone staying at either Wyatt Earp or Wild Bill to invite John for dinner one night because he has wonderful stories and can offer you an abundance of local information. 5 stars indeed! Thank you John.
