We were looking for a site near Keaton Beach and this site introduced us to the wonderful town of Steinhatchee Fl. Dave met us at the gate and was the nicest guy you will ever meet. He's working hard to improve the site and manage the swamp waters Florida is famous for. The best part of the site was the flush toilet bathroom and shower that he built. It was cute and clean, something you don't see very often. We have an Aliner Scout pop up camper with no bathroom so David provided the piece of home we didn't have and missed. We saw him improving the site while we were there with multiple truck loads of crushed stone for the driveway.. I would recommend you stay there just to meet this man. We loved him. Southern friendly that will make you feel at home. Thank you Dave for a great Hipcamp experience. We hope to see you again in the future.

Great Hosts and friendly pets. Loved having a fenced in camp area for our grandog to explore. Great weekend made possible by finding this camping spot.

Thank you, Deborah. I think our dogs enjoyed having a new four-legged friend to hang out with LOL.

It was a very private area at the end of the road. He has the area fenced off from the dense overgrowth. It was exciting for us as we were pretty sure we heard a panther in the middle of the night. Very cool! It’s a simple set up with a nice bath house. David and Shannon were very accommodating hosts. You may need some insect repellent if you want to sit outdoors after dark.

Dave and Shannon were excellent hosts and helped us out when our group needed to change plans fast. While not the most scenic location, the area was safe, quiet and the resident dogs friendly. The bathroom facility was more than adequate as well as cute and clean. Steinhatchee was a pleasant surprise and we had a wonderful canoe trip from Steinhatchee Falls down the river to the Gulf. Dave also pointed us to some other local hidden gems such as Haden Cove. We will come again.

S&D campsite was very nice! It was the perfect place for a nights stop on our way south! Our hosts were friendly and welcoming . We really enjoyed chatting by the campfire ! The site was very quiet and off the beaten track, but still close enough for convenience to major roads. We would highly recommend !
