Great spot for camping. Had a fire pit and easy access for our jeep. Hassle-free instant book was great when we couldn't find any nearby campsites at 7pm the day of arrival. Thanks Steve!
Exactly what we were looking for! Nature, remote, but still close to civilization, very neat little area. Our dogs loved hanging by the campfire and enjoyed the peace and quiet and beautiful night sky. Steve is a great host; communicative and friendly, and understanding when extreme winds delayed our checkout.
The drive to Paradise Off Grid was very nice and the campsite was easy to find. There is a small mound/hill of sugar sand right at the entrance of the camp, and we thought we would be able to clear it. Sadly we were unable to in our 21 foot camper and our back end got quite stuck in the ground, which required us to call a tow truck who came quickly and easily pulled us out. After that we parked our camper on the shoulder of the road right next to the entrance to the campsite!
The land the campsite is on is small and close to the road, but the area is remote and the surrounding properties were nothing but nature. A creek borders one edge of the property and it was filled with beautiful lily pads and flowers. We tried our hand at fishing but the water was a bit low and we didn’t have any luck. The main campsite is impeccably maintained. The area was perfectly flat and perfect for pitching tents. The campfire ring is well built and we were impressed with the craftsmanship. It was a treat having a campsite ready to go for us, complete with wood and tinder for the fire. There are tiki torches placed around the fire which provide beautiful ambiance and some relief from the bugs. Due to the nature of Florida sugar sand, the evening brought a plethora of sand fleas that were biting us relentlessly, and we eventually had to escape to our camper and seal the windows and doors for relief from them.
Although the area was wonderfully remote and peaceful, there were some teenagers/young adults staying near us who were racing around on their atvs and shouting and harassing us whenever they passed by the campsite. The campsite and campers are completely visible from the main road, which was unfortunately a bit of a drawback. We doubt this is a regular occurance, and we think we just got unlucky on the evening of our stay with who was in the nearby area at the time.

Great stay, but needs improvement
Great piece of land good for a night or two or stays. Never had a chance to interact with the host; we arrived and set up with no issues. The pictures of the site don’t represent what it looks like any longer. There hasn’t been much upkeep and the tiki torches around the fireplace are no longer present. Additionally the site is right by a paved road which isn’t that busy but expect the occasional car or two to come by.
Hi Steve,
To stay on pice of ground in an lonely forest area for 50$ is not what I expected. Without anything, but pictures of the beach is shown on website. That’s irritating!
Hope I receive my money back, so as you told me.
Thanks for that.

This was a perfect way to spend a weekend! We felt as though we were off the grid, but we were only a few miles from restaurants and such. We thought we'd head into town to eat at some point, but we loved the spot so much that we didn't leave the entire weekend! We turned off the phones, took in the sun, enjoyed yoga in the sand, and cooked meals by the campfire.
Steve and his family met us to escort us to the site, which was really kind of them to do. We took our Promaster campervan and do not have 4WD, so we did have a little difficulty getting up the hill, but Steve helped us out and we successfully pulled up!
This simple spot was just what we were looking for. Loved the fire pit and tiki torches - and being by the water. Planning to return if we're ever in the area!
Thank you guys so much for sharing your retreat with us!

This is a low-frills spot to spend a night, but you can't beat the price for the area. Plenty of restaurants and bars and wifis just up the road. Tiki torches were a nice touch.
