Great site & host, beautiful view!
Just visited one night. We will be back. Close to coast and about half an hour to Tallahassee. Entrance was a little tight but made it fine with our 32' trailer. Good view of lake and walked down to dock which is about 100 yards to see a beautiful sunrise. Owner was very good about communications and stopped by to make sure we didn't need anything. Only 30 amp plugs but that's all we needed. Rock pads and small grassed areas but lots of room on the property. Must be 3 or 4 acres. Only fished about an hour with worms but caught several bream and a small bass off the dock. Private boat ramp next to dock if we bring our boat next time. WiFi signal was OK at site but slow. Went to vacation rental house where washer and dryer are and got a much better signal. If you are planning on streaming you will not be able to. We don't camp to watch TV so for us it was fine. We were able to use the internet to check messages and do local research so we were good. I gave it 5 stars. They are just starting out and it was nice to find a place a little better than they described in the listing.
Lakefront on Ellen Lake was very nice place to camp. We were lucky and had the whole place to ourselves! Host Greg met us and recommended restaurants, beaches and how to get on the bike trail. Rode the bike trail to St Marks and had great lunch at Riverside Cafe-40 mile RT. Also can ride the trail towards Tallahassee. Drove to two beaches; Shell Point and Carrabelle beach. Both were beaches were nice. No shells on Carrabelle, but was a huge beach. Neither charged for parking. We got there around 10am and had no problem finding a place to park our truck camper. Had camp fires a couple of nights, lots of firewood around. Didn't have time to use kayaks, but very nice calm lake hardly anyone was using it. Also, used the free laundry services. Definitely would recommend!
Nice place with a view
Very pretty place and great view of the lake. Greg was very accommodating and helping us with anything we need. Even pulling me out when got stuck pulling boat back out. It is a lil tight coming and going and the gravel pad can get loose if not careful. Also a nice fire pit to use and Greg gave us soon good advice about fishing the lake . They are working on opening the rental units soon and they look really nice, may try that when we go back
Very beautiful view
Very quiet serene place. Mosques were a bit of a problem, but that may just have been the time of year we stayed. Beautiful lake view. Enter gate needs to be wider for larger campers. We have a 26 foot and just made it around the corner. This is a new camp and he was a very gracious host. Well kept up place.
This was a great place to stay. Nice level stoned parking with electric, water and sewer hook ups. Very nice sitting area with views of the lake and a fire pit. There were kayaks to use but it was too windy for us. We did use the washer and dryer available in the next door guest house. Wifi was available though not strong.
Greg was very good at communicating and welcoming.
