Great location, pics need updating
Perfect location, a little pricey but worth it for me. Lots of pros, only a couple of cons.
For me, the location is the best pro, it's only 10 minutes from the training facility where I need to be early in the morning, much better than driving the 2.5 from my house that same morning. Second best thing is their "outhouse" is actually a functioning, sit down toilet with a super cute sink. It does have a nice big area for me dogs to run, but no way I'd let them off they leash since there are pigs on the lot. In the morning, there were baby pigs running around outside a precarious fence and my dogs would have killed them for sure if I hadn't seen them first, and would have felt absolutely horrible about it. There were also other campers there apparently renting one of the 2 RVs on the property that had their dog with them as well. Perhaps they would have gotten along with a proper introduction but, again, wouldn't let mine run off leash in that situation. The pics don't reflect what the property currently looks like, it send like they might be in there middle of renovations, or adding some things to be able to continue to rent out space...kudos to them!
When looking for it, look for the sign that says "bamboo farm" and go down that lane. The gate was open when I got there, and stayed open all night, it was not secured. I think the other renters left it open, but I don't know if they were told to shut it behind them or not.
I parked just as the skies opened up, and it started pouring, and happened to park in a low spot so I was literally unloading and setting up my large teardrop camper in about 6 inches of water.
I would stay there again for the location alone, the outhouse is a plus, but didn't expect to find others camping in the property, and definitely wouldn't let my dogs off leash, and would certainly try to find another place to set up camp next time.
Wonderful, quiet, private
We loved our 4 night stay on John's property over Christmas. Location was perfect for us as our adult kids live nearby. The property was large, huge oak trees, on canal. We really enjoyed our campfire and spending time with the kids and new grandson! It was private and quiet, felt like we were in the country! Thank you John! We will definitely be back!
