Goat House Farm Glamping
Come and de-stress by snuggling our goats. These bouncing bundles of joy are guaranteed to make you smile! We also have chickens, peacocks, honeybees, and even a pig. We are near Tallahassee but in a rural area, down a bumpy dirt road, but we promise the trip is worth it. Kayaking and hiking right off the property, plus beautiful sunsets on the lake.

We are in a rural area of Tallahassee, along the Florida Big Bend Scenic Byway and surrounded by the beautiful Lake Talquin State Forest. Great fishing and hiking trails and beautiful sunsets. Two Trailwalkers and one Trailtrotter trails are just minutes away. There is also a 10-mile Lines Bike Trail. See trail maps in our photos!
We offer a roomy water resistant glamping cabin tent with high quality queen tatami beds and fresh linens. The site has a small fire pit, and chairs and table. If we are under a burn ban, there is a large communal fire pit by the outdoor kitchen. There is no electricity in our tent, but you may charge your devices in the common room.
It is possible to comfortably fit five in the tent with the two beds and one cot (provided when available, ask ahead).
We provide water, wifi, laundry, fresh eggs (unless girls are on break in winter), milk for purchase (when moms aren't nursing), and fresh fruits and veggies for the picking when in season.
We have a small outdoor kitchen area with grill, stove, utensils, and picnic table. Basic cooking ingredients are provided (oil, salt, pepper, eggs, etc) and you are welcome to pick from the garden when in season.
There is also a common room with sofas, laundry, fridge, microwave, tv, coffee pot, and kettle.
We have a small rustic bath house with hot shower and a composting toilet. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, and fresh towels provided.
There are also water spigots in the camping area.
Common areas and bath house is about 250 feet from camping area, which is located adjacent to the pasture.
We can also offer extra tents and air mattresses for $15/$50 deposit if you need more space. You will need to setup/break down the extra tents yourself. Be sure to message to check that we have an extra tent available before adding it as an extra.
Check-in/Check-out time may be flexible depending upon concurrent bookings! We ask that you clear your campsite by 11am, but you are welcome to spend the remainder of the day hanging out with the goats, kayaking, or just relaxing.
Dogs welcome at all sites, but are not allowed the pasture. Dogs must be leashed during the day when our chickens free range. Please bring bags and clean up after your companion animals! We do charge a $10 cleaning fee for pets in our tent. Please add that extra when you book.
Private and group goat yoga classes may be available during your stay. Check the extras under our booking for schedule and to book a ticket. You can also add milking lessons!
Please arrive before 7pm. Remember, there is an hour time difference if coming from the west. Late arrivals interfere with our milking routine and we cannot stop milking to show you around. Farm folks also hit the hay pretty early! Please do not book and then tell us you will be arriving late. Thank you.
Feel free to message if you have questions! The herd looks forward to meeting you!!
Things you should bring:
Lighting for walking about (we will provide a lantern)
Refillable water bottles
Sunscreen if you plan to be out on the lake
Bug Spray
We are located at the end of a bumpy 3/4 mile dirt road off Highway 20/Blountstown Hwy on the lake. Part of the road is paved, but most is dirt and we are prone to flooding after more than a couple of days of hard rain. We have several cars in the neighborhood that don't have a problem on the road, but - full disclosure! If bumpy dirt roads bother you, our road in is not for you. We - and most of our guests - think it is worth it.
Feel free to message if you have questions! The herd looks forward to meeting you!!

We had a lovely stay. Melissa made us feel welcome and at home on the farm. We came because of the goats and they did not disappoint. My children were infatuated with them, especially the babies. All of the animals are well cared for. I am certain we will return.
Beautiful place, wonderful people. Greatly exceeds any expectations, Melissa has everything you could want.

Melissa was a great host and loves sharing her knowledge of the different residents of her farm. The tent and queen beds were comfortable. The outdoor area by the tent was nice with the large rug, table and fire pit. Fellow campers were very friendly. Our group had a fun weekend and we will stay at Goat House Farm again.
Melissa is so sweet! The set up is SOOOO much better than we were expecting. It is such a beautiful place and there are so many animals that you can tell Melissa genuinely loves and takes such good care of. There are cats, chickens (with fresh eggs), tons of baby goats, and even a couple of peacocks. It is such a good, relaxing environment and I would 100% recommend

Goat House Farm was amazing. Just what my family was needing. A little get away from all the craziness of this pandemic and daily life. Melissa and Priscilla were great. They were helpful and caring. Priscilla taught my children how to milk a goat and wasn't bothered by my youngest child's million questions everyday lol. We absolutely fell in love with the animals there. You can tell that they receive so much love. They just love being loved on. I would absolutely recommend this trip over and over again. We will surely be back.

We had the greatest time at the goat farm! There was so much to explore and playing with the goats, chickens, and kittens was the highlight of our kids’ stay. The hosts are absolutely amazing and welcoming. They will allow you space (if that’s what you want) or be there to talk and show you around. The goat milk and limequots (???) were delicious and the communal area was so great with many added amenities. I was able to make myself a hot coffee every morning with the water heater and coffee press! There were games, kitchen utensils, extra sleeping bags and anything you would need if you forgot to pack something. We were also pleasantly surprised with the friendliness of the other guests as well. We met such great people and shared a campfire at night with them. Another couple had kids who played with our kids which gave us a much needed break! 😁 We will definitely return to this spot. My kids are already asking when we are going back (we left yesterday.. haha).
Staying at Goat House Farm was wonderful! Big inspiration for a nature based, community oriented lifestyle - or to just get away from the city for a while. The goats are so sweet and so is everyone at the farm. We were able to stay in one of the big tents with two beds after a previous booker’s timely cancellation - it was spacious, clean, and comfy. Melissa was welcoming and kind as were the other two women who work there, Priscilla and Cindy. We loved snuggling the big cat Mufasa next to the beautiful outdoor community kitchen. There are plenty of cooking utensils, a grill and stove, laundry, and a shower with towels available - by far the best camping setup I’ve ever had! The composting toilet is great and doesn’t smell at all. The dirt road in is smoother than some paved streets where I live. For anyone who somehow can’t stand to hang out with goats and relax on the property all day, the caves at Florida Caverns State Park and the mysterious waterfall at Falling Waters State Park are together less than two hours away, and Tallahassee is even closer. I wish we could have stayed longer!
Melissa had our tent set up perfectly! It included two beds and lamps. The whole site was beautiful from the cooking area to the hangout spot which included a coffee machine, a tv, and a washer and dryer. The goats were so friendly! I would love to come back here to experience the peace and serenity of this site. Additionally there is wifi, and a lake that I didn’t get a chance to look at but I’m sure it was just as beautiful as the rest of the land.
