Secluded, peaceful, nature filled
We enjoyed our stay very much. Christian, the host, was very good with communication and being helpful with everything. Very private, secluded location but still close to shopping and restaurants. Super cool primitive camp for sure. Would definitely stay again and will recommend to friends.
This treehouse is so cool! It looks magical when it is lit up at night. There was room inside for our queen sized inflatable mattress. The camp site also has some wild orange trees which the host was gracious enough to tell us about and let us pick from. The site is a bit of a walk from the road so I would recommend packing light. It was great to enjoy the forest and feel away from it all!
We had an awesome time!
We had 2 adults and 2 kids at the treehouse, it was so much fun! The treehouse is one-of-a-kind so such a great experience, plus hiking and s’mores too! Thank you!! Can’t wait to come back!
I’d like to say that when I feel like camping alone and having privacy, I use HipCamp and when I’m feeling sociable I book at local campgrounds. With that being said, the post never mentioned that there would be someone on premises. There was someone camping on the grounds and as I understand it, the owner often stays there too. As a female who travels alone, that would bother me. I just happen to have someone with me on this trip which made me feel better. Warning would be nice.
The post also said it was a pretty decent trek in so we packed light because the post said there was two butane stoves, utensil and cookware. There was one stove that had to be rigged to work and one large pan and small saucepan but no skillets, plates or utensils. We ended up going to the store and buying what we needed which was slightly aggregating since I already own that stuff and didn’t bring it since it said it was available.
The solar lights and solar fans were a nice addition along with the cold water camp shower. The host was nice and even helped us carry some of our stuff in. It also mentioned there was potable water in jugs in a cooler at the site. The cooler was dirty and there were a couple half filled glass bottles of water inside.
We unfortunately had to leave early due to an infestation of yellow flies. Four kinds of bug spray and a constant fire did not help. I have over 75 bites and ended up having an allergic reaction. I would suggest a bug net hanging over the bed as it is not entirely closed in and I couldn’t even get a break from the flies even inside in bed.
It is glamping in a sense that you don’t have to set up a tent and there was a shower but I can’t say it was honestly worth over what I pay at the campgrounds.
We did leave behind tons of firewood, bottled water we went and purchased and a couple utensils here and there as we didn’t want to pack it all out.
This is in no way a slam against Christian, the owner, but I just feel like you need to have your expectations set appropriately before booking.
