Primitive camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
We have 6 acres in total, 4 of them to explore. The front of the property is lightly wooded and easy access from the street while maintaining privacy. In the center of the property is our private home that respectfully, no access is permitted. The back of the property consists of several trails through the woods that all lead to Chucks Creek, a small babbling stream in the back of the property. Pop a tent, lay out a blanket, put up a hammock and enjoy the sounds of nature under the stars! Hear the owls hoot, the crickets cricket, chickens squawk, peacocks woodle- you may even see some deer, turkey and other wild creatures too! We are 30 minutes outside of Tallahassee in North Florida. Friendly furry friends are welcome, but we ask that the protectors of the bunch be left at home. This is a camp at your own leisure, pace and risk type of adventure- other than the beauty of nature, no amenities are provided, as a one can expect in the woods. Please be mindful of your surroundings and prepare for your experience. Hunting of any kind is not permitted on premises. Please contact host directly if this is something you wish to arrange separately. There are equestrian and hiking trails, the beautiful Aucilla River, Historic Monticello as well as several local farms of all kinds nearby-all within a 10-20 minute drive.Chucks Creekside Camp is the primitive escape you’ve been looking for! Our property is 6 acres in total- 4 acres are free for your to explore, and the property backs up to hundreds of acres of private, natural beauty. We do have a few neighbors so we ask that you be respectful of the peaceful surroundings but don’t worry, none can be seen from the camp sites so you can enjoy your primitive privacy! Our private home is also located in the middle of the property, out in the open and respectfully, no access will be permitted. It also is not visible from the camp area. Please use the front of the property to park your vehicles in the grassy area next to driveway and adventure your way to the back to find your Creekside campsite in the woods! Host is happy to show you around or leave you to explore on your own- we are happy to help out in a pinch but also prefer our privacy. There are several trails through the woods that end up at Chucks Creek- a babbling stream in the back of the property- yours to enjoy. Throw out a blanket for a picnic, set up your hammock, pitch a tent Creekside or enjoy the peace and quiet of the woods under the stars! Enjoy the sights and sounds- the owls hoot, crickets cricket, chickens squawk, peacocks woodle, or catch a glimpse of a momma deer and her fawn or a Turkey Tom! Campers and other vehicles can access the property with Hipcamp host approval, there are however no hookups of any kind at this time. New and exciting additions will be added as we grow and receive feedback to make this a nature lovers paradise! We want you to enjoy the experience so reservations, upon request, are limited to a single party- as many as you’d like with host approval- so you can enjoy the peace and quiet of Chucks Creekside Camp at your own pace. The style of this camping experience is very private, primitive and geared towards a true nature lover- looking to get away from the sights and sounds of the modern world and back to our ancestral roots as humans. Since this is a primitive camping experience, the only available amenities are the ones Mother Nature is offering on any given day so please plan and prepare accordingly as the first sight of civilization is at least 15minutes up the road! Bring your toys, bring your necessities, bring your luxuries or bring nothing but a sense of adventure- just leave your BS at home or at work where it belongs! No WiFi and cell service is iffy at best! We are 30 minutes outside of Tallahassee in North Florida and 30 minutes from the Florida- Georgia line. There are over 700 acres of equestrian trails, biking and hiking trails, as well as several family farms of all kinds within 10-20 minutes drive for the whole family to enjoy. Nearby Indian mounds, the Aucilla River and historic Monticello offer plenty of outdoor and nostalgic activities for all ages as well! Hunting, of any kind, is not permitted but can be facilitated separately by contacting host directly. Our only ask is that you "leave no trace"-when you leave the property, you leave it as you found it - as if no one was ever there, out of respect to Mother Nature, the property owners and neighbors. We all enjoy the serenity of the woods and intend to preserve it for future generations!
