This is a small portion of the property the my mother and Father [Harry and Belva Codding acquired when they moved here from Ohio in 1950. my Father discovered white sugar sand on the property, started mining it and selling to the building industry, They also discovered Seminole Indian artifacts while mining , and was determined that an Indian village sat on the very property shown here . the property has been a stop-over for traveling circus animal in the 60s, and recently hot air ballon take off and landing spot. Hot Air Ballooning COULD be arranged ! Learn more about this land: Grassy hillside overlooking Lake Woodward. Lotta trees, peacefull, Swinging bench under tree, good fishing., kayaking , SUP boards.(Boats not provided ) Stars are visable. Friendly, accommodating hosts. Right in the middle of 3. interesting small towns with their ownUnique points of interests, shops and Restuarants. 1 hour to Daytona BeachOr Disney area. Sailing exscursions available weather permitting.

Lake Woodward Place

A nice little spot!

Nice little place on the water! The hosts were kind and hospitable. Lots of room with a couple houses nearby but still reasonably private. Very close to businesses and restaurants. Walmart is less than a mile away for last minute things you might’ve forgot. Also there is an RV supply place not even a mile or so called Nichols RV supply—which was very helpful. There’s a road nearby but the noise is not bad at all, actually enjoyed watching the cars go over the bridge across the lake Recommended without reservation.

Lake Woodward Place

Lovely space on lake Woodward, quiet and peaceful (there is some traffic noise from nearby 441). Larry is friendly and helpful. Mt. Dora is both historical and full of events- a major one every month- such as Scottish weekend or Storytelling week.

Lake Woodward Place

Great lakeside boondocking base

Great spot minutes away from Downtown Mount Dora, an excellent base to explore the area. The site is a broad grassy field that slopes down to a private lake. A state route crosses the lake on the far end -- the traffic noise was present but not a nuisance, and was not an issue for sleeping. We arrived late and spent a few minutes leveling the van, and woke up to a mirror-calm lake. I was able to fish from shore between mugs of coffee while my wife went birding on the shore. Larry was a wonderful, warm host and gave us pointers on the area's history. Our only regret is not enjoying the lake view from the swing bench hanging off a centuries-old camphor tree, which must be seen to be believed.

Great experience on the water

Larry was a great host. Gave fishing recommendations for some large mouth bass on the lake as we brought our canoe with us. Very accommodating and kid friendly. You do hear some traffic from 441 but otherwise than that we had a great stay. Very close to down town Mount Dora so we went into town and grabbed lunch one day.
