Very interesting location! I'd never been to the Fort Pierce area, which was cool on its own.
The location is a private horse farm, housing over 60 horses. From mini-horses to giant show horses, they have it all. Everyone I met was incredibly friendly, and quick to give a tour of the area and amenities (multiple enclosed bathrooms, full shower, plus washing/drying facilities avaialble).
We slept next to a pond, surrounded by stables. Even with so many horses nearby, it's a very quiet location. If you'd like to be fully primitive, our host pointed out that there was many many many acres of undeveloped land adjacent to the stables. It's entirely possible to be in the thick of it, if you'd like. Location wise, the property is only a few miles from several breweries, local markets, the ocean and plenty of restaurants. Couldn't be beat!
This was our first Hipcamp trip and we loved it, so much fun! From the moment we crossed the gate, immediately felt in a different world. The farm is absolutely gorgeous, full of beautiful horses and plenty of spots for pitching a tent. There are clean indoor showers, a bbq grill, a picnic table and water available. What else can you ask for? Anne, the host was totally wonderful, she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. After the tent was set up, she gave us a tour around the 100+ acres farm, where she told us a little about the farm, we met her family, workers and the stunning horses.
A storm was forecast for our first night, and Anne happily offers us to stay in the lodge if it’d got worst. Rain never came and the next morning we woke up with the sound of the horses. Anne came by to see how we did during the night and even offer us coffee, what nice touch! We spent most of our time, meeting amazing people, riding horses, cooking and exploring the farm. There is a pond behind our camp, and we were lucky enough to see few horses swimming!
A unique campsite like this is hard to find. Would recommend this to anyone looking to get out of the city and get a genuine fun horse experience. Can’t wait to come back!
We totally loved staying at this horse ranch! We boondocked with our 18' travel trailer right by the pond and picnic table. There is a flush toilet nearby and a little further away is another bathroom with a hot shower, flush toilet and washer/dryer. Our hostess made us feel very welcome and recommended some eateries in town. The farm is less than 10 minutes from I 95 and 20-25 minutes to the beach. You can see a lot of stars and the place is very quiet. We would DEFINITELY stay there again!
I would add that you should follow the directions she gives you and don't follow the GPS. I followed the GPS because it looked like it was taking me the same way, but GPS takes you down a dead end dirt road. My fault only! Her directions were perfect.
Quiet beauty, open space & horses!
Lovely property in a very pastoral setting. Host was amazing, warm and welcoming. We had a lovely spot on the pond, surrounded by nature, horses and trees. There aren’t hookups, so you are boondocking, however there is water available. Perfect location to explore adorable Fort Pierce. Easy access to major Hwys. We felt really lucky to spend a couple nights in this magical place.
