Our Primitive Campsite is located on 10 private acres on the beautiful Wekiva River in Rock Springs Preserve. The landscape is heavily wooded off the grid with a path to the Wekiva river as well as a natural small swimming hole that is fed by the river & a spring. The swimming hole also doubles as a small boat launch with a canal through the woods that leads to the Wekiva river. In another direction there is a Wildlife Observatory Deck/Treehouse on short path from the cabin towards the entrance of the property. Being close to Wekiva Falls and in Rocks Springs Preserve, There are miles of hiking and biking trails nearby. Further into the Preserve there is a stables where you can horseback ride through Historic Indian mounds and graveyards. You can also canoe or kayak to and from Wekiva state park and Wekiva island. This luscious isolated campground is a great place to enjoy all kinds of wildlife, fishing and is the perfect family or friends getaway that's only 30 minutes away from Orlando. This is a PRIMITIVE campsite meaning although this may look like a house there are no mattresses, electric, or running water. There are currently no pillows or blankets on site so campers need to bring their own bedding and sleeping mats. We are currently in the process of getting running water and then electricity etc. Considering the circumstances it would be extremely difficult to try to get to the cabin when the sun is down and I would not recommend it. It is deep in the woods with no lights or sense of direction, especially for people who are inexperienced in the woods and do not know where the cabin is located. Also the trees are thick in the woods and you should account for it to appear darker faster than usual especially this time of year (winter) There is a well located behind the cabin, a hose, and a spring that is constantly pumping up fresh water through a pipe located by the swimming hole (Outdoor shower area coming soon as well). There is a working toilet inside the cabin it just needs water to be flushed! There is a canoe on site and paddles, if you would like another canoe/kayaks message me and I can arrange for more. The cabin is not on any marked roads so there is no address, the last road you will take before entering the woods is Wekiva River Road until you get to the gate to the forest. Keep in mind this location is NOT the Hammock house the hammock house is on your left as you continue straight once inside. Campers need to be aware of the terrain as the roads can be sandy or muddy and risk getting stuck if you go too slow or stop in a soft spot (especially around the Hammock House) and I will be unable to help as I am a college student away at University most of the time. As far as privacy goes there is one other private property located next to ours that has a do not enter sign you will see (to the left of our entrance) but as I mentioned previously the cabin is completely secluded and I have never seen or heard anything from that direction or been onto the neighboring property. If you have any special requests for me to have something set up for your arrival, whatever it may be message me and maybe we can make something happen!

A true gem
This was unexpectedly such a beautiful and relaxing place to be at. We just left in December and we are planning to come back immediately. Some time in January. With our busy lives we often forget to truly treasure the people and nature around us but luckily we found this place. No electricity or wifi yet we still had candles everywhere, cooked full meals, connected with loved ones, played soccer, chilled in hammocks, and genuinely became one with nature. We spotted the sweetest bear in his nature habitat 2 days in a row! The weather was chilly but luckily we kept a strong bonfire throughout our stay. Safe to say we absolutely love this place and are so thankful that angelina allowed us to visit. 10/10 recommend.
Nature lover dream
Great location with very private woods, access to the river, and very old Florida. The property has Bears, Hogs, and Deer from time to time, and surrounded by nature. We love the stars at night. It is near a few Springs.
This is a location for those that like something different and a journey.
Basic & secluded cabin
Very basic, but very secluded and comfortable cabin! The price was just right for what we got. We appreciated the covered patio since it rained, and the indoor fireplace that kept the place warm. Double check with the host if firewood is indeed available - thankfully we checked and there wasn’t any more on site, so we brought a lot but it was cumbersome.
This place is a challenge to get to but it’s an amazing little cabin in the woods! If you’re looking for a fun experience spending a day or two in the wilderness relying on your camping skills then this is for you. The decor is super vintage, there’s a nice deck and table tops to rest items in the back, they had the firewood as requested and a fire pit aswell. This the perfect spot for someone trying to take a break from things and get closer to nature (:
This place was amazing! If you’re looking for a place off the beaten path, this is it! It has all you need and we couldn’t of enjoyed the beautiful scenery more. Definitely recommend this place. We will be visiting again.
Pros: Very secluded and basic river cabin. It's rustic and on the opposite end of the glamping spectrum, but we felt comfortable and came prepared.
- Kitchen and bathroom was good.
- The place has lots of potential. Looking forward to them getting more amenities.
-River is simply majestic
-The channel to the river was blocked by downed foliage, so we had to walk the canoes to the river.
-There were also no forks, knives, or spoons in the kitchen which made eating meals pretty interesting.
-It's very quiet from other humans, but there is an airport nearby and lots of airplane traffic/noise above.
