Our Primitive Campsite is located on 10 private acres on the beautiful Wekiva River in Rock Springs Preserve. The landscape is heavily wooded off the grid with a path to the Wekiva river as well as a natural small swimming hole that is fed by the river & a spring. The swimming hole also doubles as a small boat launch with a canal through the woods that leads to the Wekiva river. In another direction there is a Wildlife Observatory Deck/Treehouse on short path from the cabin towards the entrance of the property. Being close to Wekiva Falls and in Rocks Springs Preserve, There are miles of hiking and biking trails nearby. Further into the Preserve there is a stables where you can horseback ride through Historic Indian mounds and graveyards. You can also canoe or kayak to and from Wekiva state park and Wekiva island. This luscious isolated campground is a great place to enjoy all kinds of wildlife, fishing and is the perfect family or friends getaway that's only 30 minutes away from Orlando. This is a PRIMITIVE campsite meaning although this may look like a house there are no mattresses, electric, or running water. There are currently no pillows or blankets on site so campers need to bring their own bedding and sleeping mats. We are currently in the process of getting running water and then electricity etc. Considering the circumstances it would be extremely difficult to try to get to the cabin when the sun is down and I would not recommend it. It is deep in the woods with no lights or sense of direction, especially for people who are inexperienced in the woods and do not know where the cabin is located. Also the trees are thick in the woods and you should account for it to appear darker faster than usual especially in the winter. There is a well located behind the cabin, a hose, and a spring that is constantly pumping up fresh water through a pipe located by the swimming hole (Outdoor shower area coming soon as well). There is a working toilet inside the cabin it just needs water to be flushed! There is a canoe and kayak on site with paddles, if you would like another canoe/kayaks message me and I can arrange for more. The cabin is not on any marked roads so there is no address, the last road you will take before entering the woods is Wekiva River Road until you get to the gate to the forest. Keep in mind this location is NOT the Hammock house the hammock house is on your left as you continue straight once inside. Campers need to be aware of the terrain as the roads can be sandy or muddy and risk getting stuck if you go too slow or stop in a soft spot (especially around the Hammock House) and I will be unable to help as I am a college student away at University most of the time. As far as privacy goes there is one other private property located next to ours that has a do not enter sign you will see (to the left of our entrance) but as I mentioned previously the cabin is completely secluded and we have yet to see or hear anything from that direction or been onto the neighboring property. If you have any special requests for me to have something set up for your arrival, whatever it may be message me and maybe we can make something happen!

Exactly as advertised
It was exactly as advertised, super cute and location location location! Now even though it is a cabin it is still roughing it. The platforms for our air mattress was a great touch. The solar lights worked really well. Will definitely be back!
Property exceeded my expectations. So gorgeous and secluded. Should have booked more time! Will certainly be back soon! The drive out there is a little nerve wrecking but not too bad in our Kia car. Brought the dogs and they had a blast. So relaxing and leaving feeling grateful.
Zenfully beautiful river paradise !
Beautiful and mystical deep woods 🌲 river paradise ☀️is the best way to describe this Hipcamp. Lots to see from the Wekiva river to walking the property and seeing all it’s beauty. Some stargazing at night. Meditation and reflection. It’s also amazingly secluded and private. Thanks, Angelina for sharing this wonderful property on Hipcamp!
It was horrible, im not gonna lie. Looks like a cabin from 1970. Everything is old and broke. The river is literally black, and if u want to swim u have to use the kayak for 3 miles!!! Im really disappointed because the pictures shows something different! Don’t waste your time, gas, and money!
Awesome cabin get away !
Amazing experience!!! We loved the cabin and even got to paddle along the river and see some great wildlife :) There were so many mushrooms growing around the property so we had a blast ID-ing the different species! All in all amazing stay and thank you Angelina!!! ❤️
Staying in this cozy, little cabin on the Wekiva River was like jumping into the pages of a storybook! We were here for 4th of July weekend and expected it to be really hot. We were pleasantly surprised by how cool the cabin stayed. We only had one battery fan with us and were very comfortable for sleeping and daytime. BF did some fishing and caught a few in the river and 1 in the spring area! Doggo loved the spring and swam till she dropped! We appreciated the free boat/ canoes on site and had a lot of fun on the water. Also was really nice to be able to take cover in the cabin or on the back porch when afternoon showers popped up. Solar light setup inside was unexpected and really nice to use when getting settled in
for the night. Observation tower was really cool but be careful steps are slippery. Never saw another person the whole weekend and only heard the sound of distant fireworks and one lone Owl hooting. Absolutely magical and we will be booking again soon! PS no problem with the drive in for us. The ground was saturated but very easy to navigate with excellent directions from host!
Campers dream hideaway
We had the best time! There is no electronic so plan accordingly. We took two of the kayak/small boat provided out onto the river and went left. Paddled about a mile downriver to a nice spot with a rope swing. There were other people there and we had fun talking with a neighbor to the camp. They even towed us back as we were tired from paddling a boat full of kids. And gave us a beer lol! We had a bonefire and there was plenty of wood! There is also a grill which we used. You will need 4 wheel drive in the summer to get there. You cant swim right from dock as it is kind of standing water due to lack of rain but i bet soon you can. This spot is a hidden gem and i would love to camp in the winter as well! There is a wood stove! Saw a hog on our way out!
What an amazing place! We were worried about getting stuck so we rented a truck. Definitely not necessary. The path to cabin from the gate is 2 miles of off road driving but it isn’t difficult. The drive is mostly grass. It rained the whole time we were there and the road was still easy to navigate. Just follow Angelina’s instructions and it will be fine. The park rangers fortified the road in the sandier spots as well so it’s even easier now.
We have been to several great HipCamps, this is definitely our favorite so far. It is gorgeous and secluded and full of wildlife. The cabin is basic, but sturdy and secure. There were no bugs or critters in the cabin. It actually wasn’t overly “buggy “ outside either, despite the proximity to the water. It was all just perfect, even with the rain. We look forward to coming back in the “winter!”
Pros-The hose was very helpful since there was no running water. The location is breathtaking and very convenient. It’s wonderful to have a structure to sleep in in such a great place. Angelina is a very kind and considerate host.
Cons- Previous campers. “Pack it out” means to take your trash with you. Clean up after yourself. The host isn’t expected to maintain a primitive site after each guest.
