Our RV and Tent Campsites are located in a grassy field next to dense woods. Electric and water hookups are included in the RV/Camper sites, but not the Tent Site. All sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Our newly renovated restrooms on the property have toilets and one shower. A boardwalk takes you along the Cotee River to our two open air pavilions with several places to sit and enjoy nature. Cell phone service is not a problem, as we are not remote (although it sort of feels like we are when you are here) - we are 5 min from downtown New Port Richey, 2 minutes from groceries, gas, restaurants.
This beautiful slice of Old Florida is named for the Pithlachascotee River that bends along the back side of the property. Pithlo is the Creek word meaning canoe, and chaskita means to dig or chop out, together signifying "place where canoes are chopped or dug out". Seminoles of this area used canoes dug out from the great cypress trees found along Florida rivers.
From the 1980s until 2014, this property was owned by the Cotee River Lions Club. They held a popular monthly pancake breakfast fundraiser in the large pavilion along the river. We purchased this 4.9 acres of land in late 2019. It is now where we live and have a woodworking shop. It has been a magical place for us, with no shortage of wildlife, rich jungle forest, a winding narrow river, and even the occasion river otter sighting.
We are grateful to all the humans who have occupied this place over the centuries before us for keeping it as nature intended it. It is our intention to do our part to conserve and protect its natural beauty as long as possible. We hope you find it to be as restful and rejuvenating as we do.

This property is home to a farm/nursery operation and has a large pond on the west side. The pond is Spring-fed at the headwaters of Marsh Branch Creek which begins at our property and flows West about five miles in to Tampa Bay.
Approximately 33 private acres allows for plenty of space between our campsites.
Property is home to a farm with hundreds of fruit trees- Lychee, Mango, Starfruit, Papaya, Guava). Red Mombin, and thousands of banana plants.
Fishing can be great, wildlife and bird watching too.
Fenced and gated for safety, this old historic nursery property has good vibes and plenty to offer. Until you see it - you really may not understand.
Parts of property are wide open, other areas are rugged and difficult to walk through including some wetland areas.
The nursery has plenty of trees, and some fields -the large pond is surrounded by cattails and marsh/wetlands and has fish (Bass, Tilapia, Sunfish, Catfish).
Several species of wildlife have been seen on the property.

the campground is under an ancient canopy of oaks. so youll always have shade. the center of the property is unique to say the least but the campground is nature at its finest.

Shiloh was the name of an early Florida town that was once located just down the road from our property. It was populated by hardy, adventurous folks who made a way for themselves and their families by clearing a spot along the lagoon, building a home and forging a life in a new location.
But Shiloh is now lost, removed from the maps. It no longer exists. When NASA needed a perimeter zone for the newly emerging space program in the 1950s, the federal government purchased large swaths of land between Oak Hill and Titusville, FL. Residents were bought out and forced to move. Houses were relocated or demolished. Shiloh disappeared into history while the space-age pushed forward into the future.
However... some foundations still can be found in the woods not far away, if you know where to look. There are even cemeteries that remain, whispering the names of individuals and families.
As a tribute to those early adventurers, we have named our place Camp Shiloh. We honor the past, we respect the wild Florida that surrounds us, and we celebrate the future as we watch rocket launches from our porch.
You are welcome to stay on the property while you explore the local communities of New Smyrna and Titusville, relax at beautiful Canaveral National Seashore, attend races in Daytona, visit amusement parks in Orlando... or whatever! It’s up to you. We are a peaceful, safe location from which you can stage your Florida adventure. Come on by!

Park your van/small RV, pitch your tent, or stay in the Glamping Greenhouse on our rural homestead conveniently located 1000 ft off of US Hwy 1. The nearest I-95 exit is just 3 miles away. Watch rocket launches, visit nearby beaches, attend NASCAR races, see local communities, relax at Canaveral National Seashore, birdwatch at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, fish Mosquito Lagoon, or visit the amusement parks, we are a safe and quiet location from which to stage your adventures. Weekend Trip to The Inn At The Forest
Teresa always makes it easy for me to stay. This was my 4th or 5th stay. I had a wedding to attend during the 4th of July weekend. I was driving back and forth each day without knowing in advance when I would get back for the night. I kept "T" informed the best I could. I love her and I love this place.

We stayed in the Gypsy and loved it. Very comfortable and equipped well. Views from the windows of the Gypsy are like looking at a painting. The hosts, Kathy and her husband, are wonderful. She introduced us to all the very friendly animals. The property is very relaxing and beautiful. Love the hanging trees and all the shade. We sat outside in the evening and watched the animals. In the morning it was fun to watch the baby goats run around and they came up to say hello. Chickens are free roaming and so wonderful. If you love animals you have to stay here. The location had been on our list to try and so glad we did.

We had a wonderful stay at Teresa's property while camping with both our camper and a tent. The site was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, giving us plenty of room to relax and enjoy our time outdoors. We especially appreciated all of the amenities, which made our stay comfortable and convenient.
Teresa and her sister were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit. Their hospitality truly made us feel at home.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a peaceful, clean, and enjoyable camping experience. We would definitely stay again!

Beautiful! What a great spot! The host was quick and friendly in his responses and the site was everything as promised. We enjoyed fishing from the dock, watching the river and kayaking. Even saw a mommy and baby manatee on one of our kayaking trips. We will be back and will stay longer.

What a cute little place! If I didn't have an RV I would certainly take advantage of their cabin or gypsy trailer. The animals are amazing - all named and wonderfully cared for. I was disappointed on not getting a full dozen fresh eggs (can't make a hen lay lol), but was rewarded with an extra bar of goat soap that is heavenly. If it wasn't 15 minutes from my house I'd stay there again!!! Definitely worth it - you'd never know there was a highway "right around the corner"! A little challenging to back onto the property because the road is narrow. Since it was so close to home, I scoped it out the day before.

This has been the best place we've stayed! Everyone is very friendly and happy to help any way they can. The view are amazing, the property is peaceful and quiet. It feels safer and more comfortable than anywhere we've stayed. You're free to interact with the horses and donkeys wandering the property throughout the day, so keep some carrots handy! The electricity has been reliable and steady throughout our stay of several weeks. And the price is fantastic, especially considering all the perks of staying here and the fact that we have a carport covering over our RV!
The showers and bathrooms on site are so cool and very clean, you can tell they take great pride in everything they do here. Where the bathrooms are at, they have a small bin of outdoor toys for kids in case you need something to entertain the little ones. They also have Keurig coffee maker, a large dishwashing sink, a microwave, etc nearby the bathrooms in case you need. They have several well marked walking trails on the property. On the weekend if you want to participate, they do a farm tour where you meet the goats, pigs, chickens, turkeys, etc.
We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for a while as we got ourselves ready and situated in the RV for full time living. It almost made us reconsider leaving and just maybe staying here lol.
We will definitely be back when we come to Florida to visit family. Thank you Rob and Mike for such a wonderful stay and sharing your space with us!

My son and I had plenty to do. James dropped off plenty of firewood and checked to make sure things were going well. He told of different places to boat and kayak and tube close by. We enjoyed biking and looking at all the “relics”. Definitely a fun camp vibe and worth the money. We plan to be back.

private,friendly neighbors, convenient for our stay the side has everything an RV needs to function water electric and sewage plenty of room for parking nice sitting out on the dog enjoying a nice breezy evening and having a cold one, we noticed a boat there we would've rented it if we known it was for rent.

My daughter and I had the most peaceful and amazing camping trip here at Lucky U Ranch! I highly recommend for families or couples or anybody looking to get away the crazy life of Florida. The ranch itself is very beautiful and upkeep. The public amenities couldn’t be better. The shower is the toilet and everything were absolutely incredible! And a top of it all off the livestock and the beautiful horses were absolutely just a cherry on top! All the animals are so friendly and roam around freely. It really is such a gem to Camp here! We tent camp at the magnolia spot. We couldn’t recommend it more. It felt very private and secluded, but still very close to all the amenities. I highly highly recommend this place! We will definitely be back this winter. Thank you so much to you both! And Mike, you are absolutely outstanding. I really appreciate your hospitality and generosity!

Where to go
Orlando and the Lake Country
Orlando’s theme parks might pull in the crowds, but the city is also surrounded by lakes and forests, affording plenty of options for fishing, paddling, and lakeside camping. Explore the hiking and horseback riding trails around Lake Apopka, cool off swimming and kayaking at Wekiwa Springs State Park, or seek out a tranquil campsite in Seminole State Forest. Further north, Ocala National Forest has 12 developed campgrounds and miles of backcountry camping.
Florida Heartlands
Florida’s rural heartlands stretch north and west of Lake Okeechobee, the state’s largest freshwater lake. This is the spot to escape the crowds, whether parking your RV on a farmland Hipcamp, hiking and paddling the wetlands of Lake Kissimmee State Park, or fishing for bass on Lake Placid.
Atlantic Coast
Just a 40-minute drive from Orlando, the Canaveral National Seashore has some of the best backcountry camping along the Atlantic Coast, where you can boat or kayak to remote islands and pitch your tent right on the beach. Further north, there are plenty of RV parks and campgrounds between New Smyrna Beach, Daytona Beach, and Palm Coast, with easy access to the beaches, dunes, and lagoons.
Gulf Coast
Urban campers have plenty of options around Tampa, the gateway to Central Florida’s Gulf Coast. Pitch your tent by white-sand beaches at Fort de Soto Park or Cayo Costa State Park, go fishing and hiking at Little Manatee River State Park, or enjoy some of Florida’s only whitewater rafting at Hillsborough River State Park.
