It is rare in that it has a 40 acre field, a 5 acre island, a year round creek and over 2,000 feet of river frontage and nearly 40 acres of woods. Learn more about this land: There are over 80 acres of woods, fields and an island to explore. The property has over 2,000 feet of frontage on the Chippewa River. There is also a year around creek that flows through the property to the river. Currently there are three separate sites that are suitable for camping on the bank of the Chippewa. Each site is primitive and has lots of privacy. There are five trails that go through the woods as well as follow the bank of the river. There is a stairway that descends to the river. The river at this point is rather pristine. There are no houses on the camping side of the river and just a few on the opposite side. The river along the property is great for wading, swimming, canoeing/kayaking and fishing. There are over a dozen lakes within a 20 mile radius of the property. Less than 3 miles from the property there are snowmobile and four wheeling trails that connect to trails that extend over 300 miles. The property is less than 15 miles from the headquarters of the Ice Age Trail that stretches from near Superior to near Madison, Wisconsin.

The Chippewa County Forest (16,000 acres) Hickory Ridge Trailhead is located about 5 miles away. You can enjoy miles of hiking, biking, ATV or horseback riding trails. Trails wind past small lakes and beaver ponds, as well as spectacular vistas and abundant wild life. LIST OF SITES: BIRCH Waterfront is our medium size campsite with a level gravel pad and waterfront access via a long dock for fishing and boating. EAGLE POINT is a favorite because it is the most private, surrounded by trees and is on a elevated waterfront lot with steps down to a dock, has a canoe and a row boat and the best spectacular sunset views. The eagle's nest is in a tall pine tree above the steps! LARGE Waterfront Site is perfect for groups and multiple campers (no more than 3 please). This site has multiple power and water connections and easy level lake access. There is a dock, row boat and kayak available also. BOB LAKE WEST is our only site that is not on this dead end road. It is located on the west side of the lake near the boat landing. Partially wooded elevated site with power, water, dock, row boat, outhouse, fire-ring, and firewood. BOB LAKE RUSTIC Wooded non-waterfront campsite has no power or water but can access Bob Lake and use the row boat at our common lake access. Great for the adventurers who like to rough it. This property was previously owned by Trapper Art who was well known in the area and started several successful businesses dating back to 1967 including Art's Snowmobile, Trapper Arts, and Art's Electric which was quite an accomplishment in the Wisconsin Northwoods!

Nestled amongst the rolling hills of the Northern most part of the Driftless region, you can find yourself enjoying wildlife and a sky full of stars. Whether camping by tent or car, lying in a hammock or in the comforts of your camper, Sassy Fox Acres is a relaxing stay. You will see the native plants blowing in the breeze, bees buzzing, and birds chirping. Minutes from a fishing stream, lake access for kayaking, or a short distance away to some great bikes trails. Just 10 minutes from freeway access makes it a convenient stop for a quick overnight stay or weekend trip to explore the area. There is plenty to do in the area- So many yummy wineries, breweries, and restaurants. Fire wood, eggs, produce, and more is available for purchase on site. Along with renting a hammock during your stay. I give campers as much privacy as possible. I check in with you through Hipcamp when you book and then again after you arrive to ensure your needs are being met. Located just off of Interstate 94 between the Twin Cities and Eau Claire, WI, this camping site will surely please all campers who want a sense of wilderness with convenient city access. The diverse property in the "Prairie Pothole" region of Wisconsin offers walking trails through 10 acres of meadow habitat with lots of wildlife to view (sandhill cranes, deer, pheasants, turkeys, songbirds and more). Enjoy a beautiful 360-degree view of rolling hills and beautiful sunrises and sunsets right from your campfire. There are over a dozen fruit trees planted and attractive landscaping at the campsite. The 300 ft gravel driveway makes access easy for cars, trucks, campers and RVs. Pine Lake Rec Area is only 2.5 miles away (bring your boat or canoe/kayaks). There are three golf courses located within 11 miles of the campsite -- two 9-hole courses and one 18-hole course. The location is perfect for travelers looking for a cheap and simple place to stay just off Interstate 94 and Hwy 63.

Meander a walking trail system through 30 acres of woods and prairie. In 2019, all 10 acres of fields were planted as dedicated Monarch/pollinator habitat. This is a full sensory experience - spectacular celestial nights with serenading hoot owls, frogs, crickets and yips of coyotes in the distance. The honey bees are humming in their boxes, rooster crowing and chickens do their daily forage through the yard and woods. This is a birder's delight with turkey and deer being very common sightings. Our unique greenhouse and pergola are common use areas for all guests to enjoy. The pergola is a large cushioned area providing shade to read a book, charge a device, play cards, enjoy a beverage, eat a meal. Explore the greenhouse production of tomatoes, peppers, and ginger growing along with flowers and other hothouse varieties. Fill water containers, or use the large stainless steel sink and countertops to prep meals or wash up. You will also find a beverage service counter, yard games for use, and any on-farm items for sale in this area- firewood, plants, eggs, honey and produce. Tucked discreetly behind the greenhouse is drop-off for garbage and recycling, and also 1 of 2 ultra clean port-a-potties found on property. *** We're family friendly! Adult occupancy is applied to 12 years and older. There is no occupancy charge/limit for children 11 years of age or under. *** We have 6 sites to offer. Providing a historical backdrop is our guest house - a fully restored Norwegian cabin built in 1894 (completed July 2022). Adjacent to the greenhouse is 2 RV (or tent) sites with full water and 30 amp hookups. 2 additional sites accommodate RVs or tents and we have 1 walk-in tent site. This rustic site is the most private - a short distance into the woods behind the greenhouse. Our campground will close Oct 29. Don't let our sleepy little town deceive you. The locals have huge hearts - are generous creatives, with ingenious businesses that spill over with hospitality. Uber local is 2 Amish businesses within a 15 minute walk - a bakery and a woodworking shop! We seek to enliven our spirits, restore the health and resilience of the land, and live sustainably. We are committed to preserving and restoring the unique plant and animal communities living in this Driftless region of the Midwest. The land is hilly with ravines (coulees), a small spring-fed creek and is close to the Chippewa and Mississippi Rivers. Nights are star-filled and deliciously quiet. Learn more about this land: Enjoy the sweeping prairie and sunset views from your camping area. We have a fire pit at each site for bonfires and there is a picnic table for cooking. Hike right from your tent onto 80 acres of prairie, woods and valley views. Lots of wildlife and wildflowers. Kayak the nearby Chippewa River. The campsites are located on a working homestead, complete with old farm house and gardens. Site 1, Bee Balm is relatively close to the house, shower and toilet, and Site 2, Oak Grove is farther from the house and facilities, but still only about 40 yards from facilities. If you are camping with a trailer we will set you up in the Bee Balm site as there is more space and better access.
