Amish Cabin on Reads Creek
Amish Cabin Glamping!
Great little getaway with the comforts of home. Getting my oldest child's feet wet into the camping world, this was a great first time trip for her. Cabin is the perfect size for 2 adults or an adult with a child.
Pros: Right on a perfect creek for wading, swimming, and tubing. Cabin has air conditioning, electricity, mini fridge, basic cooking and grilling utensils, comfortable bed and fold down couch. Fully functional toilet and an awesome shower.
Cons: You have to walk up a pretty steep set of stairs to get to the bathroom down the driveway, its not very close to the cabin. The stairs are a bit wobbly so careful hauling gear up and down. You're right next to a fairly busy highway so there is a lot of traffic noise, but inside the cabin you dont hear a thing. The picnic table by the fire pit has seen better days. I'd definitely recommend using your own chairs.
All in all this is a fabulous place to stay with a lot of things to do in the area. Good restaurants, coffee shops, flea market, and just being able to put your chair in the creek and relax and listen to the sounds of nature. I definitely think we will be back.
