Totally private, the property sits on a acre surrounded by undeveloped forest. Huge old century-old cedar stumps litter the surrounding woods and you'll see where loggers in the early 1900's cut into the sides to place their springboards. The trees surrounding the property today are mostly fir and alder. The 16'x20' cabin sits tucked back against the forest, looking out with territorial forest and mountain views of the Cascades. Outside you'll find a firepit with chairs and a picnic table for your enjoyment. Off to the side you'll also find our tidy and clean-smelling outhouse. Inside the cabin you'll be surprised at the roominess and open feel given the cabin's dimensions. A counter with sink hides all of your plates, utensils, pots and pans. An L-shaped dining nook seats 3-4 comfortably. Across the room you'll find wonderful wood-stove for those chilly nights, and a pull-out sofa to relax on. A wide ladder leads up to the sleeping loft where you'll find a double -sized (full) futon bed tucked under the window looking out toward the mountains. Given the cabin's size, it is best-suited for couples - though it is possible to sleep 4 with the pull-out sofa. There is a nice flat tent-site at the cabin as well. Maximum occupancy is 4 guests at the property at any time. Please note, this is an OFF-GRID cabin with NO ELECTRICITY or RUNNING WATER. You're welcome to bring a portable generator to plug into our lighting system. In the Spring/Summer we have a rain barrel that may provide limited water to the sink for washing only, NOT for drinking. Our cabin is located just over an hour from Seattle with easy access in Spring, Summer, and Fall. From November to March there is usually snow on the ground, so the last 200 yards off the main road would only be accessible by snowshoes or by foot. The area is beautiful with lots of trees, greenery, and wildlife. Explore the Forest Service roads nearby, or take one of the many hikes in the area. Fishing can be fantastic on the Skykomish river, or any of it's nearby tributaries. Steven's Pass Ski area is 30 minutes away - great for winter skiing/boarding or mountain biking in the summer! For longer stays, pop over to Leavenworth (1.5 hours east) for a Bavarian-themed experience - don't miss the brats and beer!

The Little Cabin in the Woods
A+ Rustic Glamping
I was looking for a rustic glamping spot and this PERFECTLY fit the bill - all the fun parts of camping without having to pop a tent! I was a little nervous about finding the place, but the instructions are quite thorough and I found it no problem. The cabin is nestled amongst a ton of trees but with a big clearing to star gaze. The fire pit is the perfect size and a grate for outdoor cooking. Inside the cabin there are some twinkle lights, but they are tied to a solar panel and I wasn't sure how to change the settings on. No worry here though - we brought our own and battery packs and were set! The cabin was comfortably cool even though it was quite warm during the day. At night when it cooled off, the indoor fireplace is cozy and really warms up the space. The bed isn't very comfortable, but not unbearable. Remember to bring a headlamp or lantern for the walk to the outhouse! While outside, we heard very few cars on the road nearby and the faint rumbling of the train every once in a while. Inside the cabin it is very quiet though! We really enjoyed our time in the cabin and can't wait to come back again. It's close to many great hikes and just a generally peaceful place to spend a weekend!

Loved this place!
We booked the little cabin on a whim on a late Saturday afternoon to get away from the rain! We planned to go camping and had the same camp-like feel with Josh’s cabin. It was beautiful and quaint, just what we were looking for. Highly recommend!

The Little Cabin in the Woods
Nice and secluded. Views of the mountains while still being in a cozy clearing of the woods. Didn’t see another soul while staying, which is what I was looking for.

The Little Cabin in the Woods
Questionable
The direction to the location are incorrect, it's not pass miles marker 61. The location is difficult to find. The instructions are not very clearly written. Once you get to the location they'll have a very old combination lock which not everyone will be familiar with. Inside there is very little provided there are no lights for night time. The front step to this particular location is broken at the top and has been incorrectly repaired. And is it a very steep tilt and is very dangerous. The area is secluded and it is wooded which is nice but you can hear the vehicles from the main road. I personally would not recommend this location for families or anyone with small kids. If you want to go camping with your bros, it'd be a suitable location but there is nowhere safe to park unless you have a 4x4 vehicle.

Idyllic Forest Retreat
Our stay at the little cabin in the woods was perfect! The cabin is in excellent shape and clean (with just a bit of residual dog hair if you're allergic). Kitchen is well stocked with basics and outhouse is clean. The loft is cozy - bed was not too comfy, but my husband slept fine. The land is beautiful and tucked away off the gravel road. Sitting by the camp fire in the evening or having coffee on the porch in the morning is peaceful and quiet. The nearby town of Skykomish is adorable and local hiking/ river access is gorgeous. We will certainly be back!
