Site 2 - Tent Camping on Vashon Flower Farm
Such a sweet space! I loved the privacy, proximity to town, beautiful flowers, cute animals, and communal kitchen. I camped by myself for a couple of nights and would definitely come back. Thanks so much!

Good semi-glamping weekend getaway
There's a lot of social pressure to leave a perfect review, but that doesn't serve any of us, so I'm going to be honest about the things I liked and the things I thought could be better.
First, there really are some great amenities at this campground. The portapotty was very clean, the communal kitchen space was very useful for washing dishes, and I appreciated the large, sturdy cart for taking things to our site.
The layout was very nice with (I think) all sites having a similar walking distance to all amenities, and the trails were very well marked. I appreciated the intentional pathways through the long grass, as did my kids who rode their bikes all over the place.
Now for the things I thought could have been better. I usually camp at state parks, so I was surprised that this actually felt more like semi-glamping in someone's backyard. More trees would certainly help, and if some of the underbrush were cleared from the woods so tents could be set up back there or hammocks could be hung up, that would also make it feel less like a backyard. When I camp I want to connect with nature, so the communal kitchen and fancy solar lights made it feel unnecessarily fancy.
Being able to bring your car to your site would also improve the experience a lot.
I hope this helps the owners, who clearly have put a lot of thought and love into their property. And I hope it helps future campers know what to expect.

Not quite glamping, but close!
We loved camping at Sweet Alyssum Farm! What can be better than camping at a lovely flower farm situated less than a 10 minute walk from the Vashon township?
We chose site #2 which is easily the most secluded. We could not see our fellow campers and our tent tucked nicely into the overhanging trees. It was close to 90 degrees during the day, but we were in shade until the late afternoon. Our sun exposure only lasted an hour or so before the sun ducked behind a lovely tall tree on the property, so it never felt like we were baking.
It was a minor challenge to transport our gear to and from the camp site from the parking area. The available cart came in handy and you should know you will be pulling the cart uphill when you leave. There were two of us so one pulling and one pushing worked out fine. It's a small price to pay for such a lovely pastoral setting, clean and well maintained.
The outdoor kitchen was a wonderful spot to watch the sunrise and enjoy our coffee. As other have said, the porta potty is clean, with no discernable odor.
This is a wonderful place for well behaved dogs. Our dog loved froclicking in the tall grasses of the medows.
We will be coming back!

We enjoyed a nice night camping under the shady trees of site #2. The outdoor kitchen area was well appointed and made it easy to make our coffee and have a light breakfast before the bakery in town opened up this morning. The farm is very conveniently located blocks from town. Would definitely stay again!
