This was a great spot, we really enjoyed our weekend here. Sol was very helpful and thoughtful. We loved the hut and would happily stay here again!

The property was amazing and a great place for solo camping or a larger group with children or dog. It was well maintained and clean. A night you have a perfect view of Astoria I’d the sky’s are clear. With the opportunity to watch boats port in and out.
Sol was an amazing host and even set up some tome over the phone to share some history of the land and give some insight to what we could expect while out on the property. He also provided fire wood a d fresh water to clean dishes and wash hands!
I am so excited about my stay, and have already started to plan the next trip!

The Rose Garden
The Rose Garden was an amazing place to camp. Sol (the host) was extremely helpful and so considerate of camper needs. It was the perfect getaway for our family!

The Rose Garden delivered exactly what we needed for our girl’s weekend. The view, the wildlife, the amenities, and in particular the privacy ensured we had a veeerrry relaxing time.
Sol was very thorough and helpful in his description of all that the Rose Garden has to offer.
Despite two days of rain, we thoroughly enjoyed our time thanks to the use of the Hut that is included with the site.
There is plenty of space to spread out. There was only three of us, but it would have been a great spot for a family or two together.

The Rose Garden was a great place to stay along the Columbia. Beautiful, private and cozy. The little hut was awesome, as was Sol. He is generous with wood, water and maintaining the land.
It's location is great. Remote, but still in easy drive to fun adventure spots like Astoria, Long Beach and Cape Disappointment. Rosburg has a little store for things you might have forgotten.
Great wildlife watching spot too. I spent my time there with 4 eagles - 2 mature and 2 immature. They would regularly fly overhead and settle in nearby trees.
I will be back for sure.

Amazing site. Fantastic host. Amazing views. We camped for a week (2 couples and 4 pups) at The Rose Garden. The site has a small cabin/hut (with a full size bed) that really contains the warmth from the day so when the cool chill kisses the camp site at sunset, there is a place for warmth and shelter. Or you can pull you tent up close to the fire ring and fall asleep to the crackling sounds and dancing flames in anticipation of the sunrise peeking over the water the next day.
There is also a very handy hand washing station behind the tent and clean honey bucket 50 yards up a slight hill. There is a spot behind the hut that remains about 20 degrees cooler than the rest of the site, and a small brook with a little private seating area hidden away from everything.
Outside of a corner store 6.5 miles from the site, there isn't very much locally but there are a handful of fun beach cities within a 50 minute frive in almost every direction. There's plenty of space for games and the like at the site if you plan to just "camp out." We had (in addition to the hut on the property) 2 large tents, 1 Cabana, 1 large tent covering with screen house, horseshoes and bocci ball alleys set up, camping shower area that we set up, 1 picnic table and 1 round table and an outdoor movie theatre set-up and there was still room for another dozen or so folks and another 6 or so tents. Great for large groups!
Sol was great - communicating with us the entire time and very hospitable. Sol provides 2 five pound buckets of fire wood and some water for every day of your stay. You'll likely need more but it's a good start! Also, Sol knows everything about the area so ask him about the otters and eagles that you'll spot during your stay.

What a magical place. Peaceful and quiet. The neighbors are friendly. Sol is very thoughtful about you getting a great experience. Loved it so much, we'll be back often.

This is a great site if you're looking for a simple, private, peaceful space in a beautiful setting. The lawn area is great for games, picnics, sun bathing, etc. The hut is a cozy sleeping den, or retreat if the weather gets wet. You'll see lots of birds, deer, and critters. Other than an occasional passing car or ship, the only sounds are birds, wind, and the little creek that runs behind the hut.

The Rose Garden is a beautiful site and Sol is extremely informative. He offered us detailed site walk through, and travel directions. Plus options for towns and sightseeing.
They camp site itself is a lovely grass level space, with an absolutely incredible view of the river coastline and Oregon. Lots of birds, butterflies, flowers, and rocks!
Definitely booking again.

An amazing camp spot! Private, beautiful, safe, clean. Our teenage kids didn't look at their phones once! The bed was comfortable, the porta-potty was super clean, wonderful views. Sol was so kind and helpful. We look forward to coming again!

It was very lovely! Wonderful space, comfortable bed, thoughtful COVID preparations. The host was very communicative and arranged a phone tour the week before to observe social distancing. The “outhouse” was very clean and maintained. You can tell the amount of time that has been put into this space

The Rose Garden
The Rose Creek Retreat was a wonderful site to visit and Sol was a great host. The directions were clear, the site was in terrific condition, and the surrounding area is beautiful overlooking the Columbia River. It is evident that Sol takes great pride in maintaining the Rose Creek Retreat. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

This is our second time staying here it was so wonderful last year. The property is magical with a stream and panoramic views of the river as well as a private little beach. It is very private and the little yurt is cozy perfectly cozy. Every details has been thought of to law your stay more enjoyable from the grate to cook over the fire pit to the hand washing station. Sol is a great host and steward of the land.

Beautiful spot with a view of the water and so many bald eagles!. The hut is adorable and smells like cedar. The only sound on the property is from the creek that rushes through it. The location is extremely private and was ideal for a getaway in nature during the pandemic. We didn’t meet the host in person but over the phone he was warm and friendly and informative. Arriving at the property it was clear this is a labor of love for him. We really enjoyed our stay and are grateful that Sol chooses to share his property this way. We hope to be back!

Absolutely beautiful location on the river with bald eagles constantly flying overhead and hanging out in the tree across the road. It was quiet and peaceful - few cars driving by, though I’m not sure how busy that road might get during not COVID19 busy seasons. Doesn’t matter though because you can’t see the cars driving by anyway. Easy access to the beach. Beautiful waterfall. Bonus gazebo shelter... all around a really wonderful experience. Oh, clean port-o-potty!

Rose Creek Retreat is a wonderful place to camp! The site is well kept, with roses and beautiful plants growing all around. and the most amazing views of the Colombia river. We saw so many bald eagles and a full grown doe even walked right into our camp on the second night to hang out! We were almost rained out, but I am glad we went and stayed because the rain gave us the most beautiful play of clouds over the bay and across the Colombia river and the brightest rainbow I have ever seen. If you want a peaceful, quiet place to go and see nature, Rose Creek retreat is perfect!
Sol was incredibly helpful and informative. He walked me through the property on the phone since we couldn't do a face-to-face meetup due to covid. He told me the animals to lookout for, what stores were around for resupplying, some of the history of the area, and gave me a perfect picture of the area. He even left me a potted plant to take home which will be going into the garden right away!
I went with 6 other people and every one of us loved our time at Rose Creek Retreat. We all walked up and down the road, hung out on the pillar, took walks on the pebble beach and marveled at the rock walls only a few hundred feet down the road from the campsite. Thanks Sol, we really loved it here!

Sol was an excellent host. He met us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the campsite, plus a short history of the area. He has extensive knowledge about this area of the Columbia River, and it was great to learn about it.
The site itself is well-maintained, and Sol has paid a lot of attention to the details. You'll notice little statues and art throughout the site, as well as helpful amenities like a fire pit and covered picnic table.
You can see a bit of the road from the campsite, but it's a dead end, so the traffic is minimal. Mostly you'll just see boat traffic on the river (plus lots of birds!). On a clear night, you can see many stars, as there is very little light pollution.
We liked the location for its proximity to activities along the Washington and Oregon coasts.

Super gorgeous view and nice accommodations for the price! Sol is awesome and does a great job communicating with you and making sure you are comfortable all the way through. We were ready to go with our tent gear only to find out there is a bedroom in the little podium! So great! The site is right above the road so we were a little nervous to let the dog off leash but there aren’t many cars that pass (at least during our experience). If you’re looking for an easy getaway, look no further!

The Rose Creek Retreat was so much more than we expected! The site has an expansive view of the river and is surprisingly private for how close to the road it is. The hut is cozy and smells incredible (love the cedar) and the bed was very comfortable to sleep in. The sound of the creek is calming and having a fire pit made our night perfect. Sol is a wonderful host and we appreciated him sharing a bit about the land and its history. We’ll be back!

Sol has curated a very intentional experience to allow campers a chance to learn the natural history at the mouth of the Columbia River. Sol is knowledgeable and passionate about the land and works to make it a sustainable resource for guests to enjoy. The views are incredible. We saw bald eagles and other wildlife. The landscaping is deliberate and magical. This campsite will surely meet your expectations if you are looking for privacy and taste. Furthermore, communication and attention to details by Sol, make this spot one I will return to for years to come.
