Welcome to our RV sites at the beautiful Republic mountain retreat! We offer two options for RV enthusiasts:
Covered RV Site: Ideal for smaller 24-foot RVs or trailers, this site provides shelter and coziness for your stay.
Open RV Site: A larger space without coverage, perfect for larger RVs or those who prefer more space to spread out.
Accessing our site involves a half-mile dirt road, which is in decent condition but best navigated at a slow pace. The road culminates in a steep incline, but rest assured, numerous RVs have successfully made the ascent. The charming town of Republic, boasting a delightful brewery and several excellent restaurants, is a mere 2 miles away.
Both RV sites feature 50-amp electrical service but currently lack additional hookups. For convenience, an outhouse is provided if you prefer not to use your RV's facilities. Please note that while the RV sites share the property with a cabin, we ensure that only one accommodation option is rented out at a time, ensuring your privacy.
Rates are $40 per night for each site. Alternatively, you can secure the entire property (both sites) for yourself for $60 per night.
Perched atop a small mountain, our property offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the charming old western town of Republic, as well as stunning rock formations and majestic mountains in every direction. “The Lazy C; Where Doing Nothing is OK" is a rustic but modern private home located on 20 beautiful acres near Wauconda, WA. Nestled between Tonasket and Republic, we welcome visitors to our beautiful and well appointed mini RV Park with two 50 amp full hook up sites that include Wi-Fi. We love the area and are eager to share the hidden gems that abound here. We will be happy to recommend the finest day drives in the region as well as other adventure advice for our area.
The Lazy C does not have cell service. The closest cell service can be obtained 20 miles away in either the town of Tonasket or Republic.
That said, wi-fi calling on most cell phones work just fine.

Our Ranch is located 15 miles north of Republic, WA in Ferry County. Just a scenic 30-minute drive further north is the Canadian border crossing at Danville/Grand Forks, BC.
We love hosting Hipcampers! A Resource Book is available to borrow offering ideas for local recreation. We are happy to help make your stay at our Ranch special!
On the day of your booking, we will reach out as to your ETA. We always greet and escort you to your site, so please arrive as close to Check-In time as possible. If you will be delayed, please be courteous of our time and let us know by calling our landline: 509-775-0204.
NOTE: It is 3 1/2 miles on a dirt county road to reach the Ranch; at various times of the year it is quite bumpy (and dusty)!
If you have questions about the campsites please let us know. If all sites are booked, contact us anyway- we may be able to create a spot just for you! We have room to grow but are doing it slowly.
Each campsite is very private, but the sounds of neighbors down in the valley below do travel during the day. This is also a working Ranch so please be aware that there are sounds associated with our activities (although far above the campsites)- the sheep, pigs, and goats get excited at feeding time; the dogs bark while doing their jobs sometimes during the night; the rooster announces the break of dawn. However, none of that detracts too much from the soothing music of the forest!
~ Take in the native flora and fauna on our self-guided "Woodland Walk".
~ The Ranch is perfect for bird watching and stargazing!
~ The Ranch borders State Land and is within 1 mile of the Colville National Forest which means endless miles of picturesque hiking and wildlife viewing! The Ferry County Rail Trail is a must-do.
~ Swimming, fishing, boating, and water skiing are only 15 minutes away at Curlew Lake State Park and the Kettle River.
~ One bundle of firewood, 15 gallons of potable water, and a compost toilet are included with your stay. BYOTP though. :)
~ Ranch-grown eggs and organic produce for your meals are seasonally available for purchase.
WILDLIFE: There is a wide range of wildlife around the Ranch- snowshoe hare, grouse, turkey, bobcat, Canada lynx, coyote, cougar, wolf, and black bear. Please use common sense while camping! Always be aware of your surroundings. Keep garbage secure in a vehicle. - There are also ticks in the area!

Being only 16 miles from town can make for a fun day. They offer an official fossil dig in the summer. Also some winter activities. With nice restaurants, coffeehouse or bars with some local entertainment.

I had been searching for over 2 years for a property where I could make a difference in the environment and live in the wilderness.
I was looking for water on a large tract of land that was remote.
In 2017 I found the perfect property and to my dismay it had sold 2 days before I saw the listing.
I was shocked because this was the perfect property.
In my 2 years of searching I knew exactly what I wanted and this was the property.
It had a private lake with fish.
A solar cabin with a flush toilet and hot shower.
The cabins 8 foot windows faced West for magical sunsets and view of the storms that roll in from the coast.
It was beautifully treed with just the right amount of open meadow and forest with Hemlock, Ponderosa pine, and Larch.
How could this property be sold?
I tried to let it go but thought about it for the next year.
After a year and a half had passed and my search continued I came across an advertisement for this magical property, it was up for sale again.
I called the real estate agent immediately and found that an offer had been made but the buyers could not commit for 5 more months.
I made an offer that day not really knowing how I was going to pull off the money.
I knew this property was meant for me.
I wrote the owner a letter explaining that I was a land steward and that this land would never be developed.
I would be putting it in a land trust where no developers could put up condos.
The owner happened to be a environmentally focused human
and he ended up selling to me.
Come to find out when I had first saw the property sold a year and a half before, that transaction had fallen through.
The owner had just taken it off the market for the winter.
