Dragonfly Retreat

Porta potty available starting mid April. The camp site is approximately 6 acres located in a quiet secluded forest area near highway 525. A fire pit with wood is provided on non-burn ban days. A flat grassy area is big enough to enjoy your recreation activity of choice. Bring your binoculars and check out all the different kinds of birds. Nearby wetlands provide lots of food for birds, bats, and dragonflies. Other wildlife you may see are deer, bunnies, owls, quail, butterflies, garter snakes, and raccoons. Lots of native flora can be identified with your plant identification app or book. The beach is about a mile away where you can hunt for sea glass and enjoy the waves or build yourself a shelter out of driftwood. The mostly flat gravel road can accommodate any size RV. 10 minutes to Coupeville, Greenbank Farm, Ebey's Landing, Port Townsend Ferry, and Patmore Pit Dog Park. 20 minutes to Freeland 25 minutes to Oak Harbor 30 minutes to the Clinton-Mukilteo Ferry 35 minutes to Deception Pass What you will need to bring: - self-contained RV, camper van, motorhome, or camping gear with camp toilet - water - grill or rack for fire pit - camp chairs/table - mosquito repellent - flashlights - recreation equipment Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash and in the presence of the owner at all times. Whidbey Island Christmas Tree Farm

We are a 20 acre tree farm in the making on beautiful Whidbey Island. The property is rough graded with lots of areas to explore. No water. Tons of fire wood to glean. Close to town for supplies but quiet and crazy stars at night. We have cleared two of the cedar groves on the south side, and they are perfect campsites. The sites are 75'-100' apart, more private than a state park, but close enough that a bigger group would feel close. Portable Toilet is on site 100' from the Big Cedar site. May through October Cedar Hallow- Our original campsite, sports a hammock, a picnic table, a fire pit, & good area for 2 tents, probably 6 people. The site has huge cedar trees all around so it's filtered sunlight most of the day, & warm in the summer! Big Cedar- Our bigger site. Equipped with a fire pit, a picnic table, hammock, and space for 3-4 tents, probably 12 people comfortably. There is a dirt road that circles the property, it's great for walks and animal viewing but can get muddy in the rain so be prepared. Parking is a gravel lot directly across the little dirt road from the sites. Unload at the site then move to parking as to not block the road. Trucks with campers can pull tight to a site but don't pull into a site please, obey standard fallen tree limb boundaries. The great wide open forest to the south allows for nice nature calls bathroom walks, go deep. Thanks

The campsite is at the bottom of a rugged drive so an SUV or AWD vehicle are recommended, especially during the wetter seasons of Spring and Fall. When the property was logged approximately 100 years ago they scooped out gravel from the river to make their roads in the area thus creating the back eddy lagoon along the beach. The Department of Fish and Game have a fish ladder at Sunset Falls just upstream and BNSF railroad owns the large vacant tract down stream.A rather peaceful setting, including the rushing sound of the river and the occasional whistle of a train. You will feel refreshed and rejuvenated after you stay at The Landing.Pets are welcome, there is a toilet on site campfires allowed (when burn bans are not in place).

Take a break from the city and connect with nature by staying at our magical farm property located on the very south end of Whidbey Island, WA (12 minutes from the Clinton ferry dock). You can enjoy such activities as swinging in one of the many hammocks, getting goldfish pedicures, feeding some of the sweet animals, singing with the parrot, doing goat yoga or goagility (don't bother Googling it because it doesn't exist anywhere else), picking fresh fruits and vegetables for dinner you can prepare in our outdoor cabana kitchen, eating s'mores at one of the many firepits, visiting the beautiful flower gardens or simply enjoying the peace and quiet. Wildlife galore including bald and golden eagles, red tail hawks, deer, raccoons, heron and coyotes. Some nights, we have live music in the evening by one of South Whidbey's amazing bands and beer flowing from the taps built into the wall of the cabana. It is just me and an occasional worker operating the property so you may see us weeding, milking goats, feeding farm animals, or watering some of the many gardens. You are encouraged to participate in activities on the farm and children are welcome to do the same. We are 5 minutes from Bailey's Corner Store, Whidbey's best burger joint, which has great music various nights of the week, and Ogres Brewery which also has great entertainment and beer. Langley and Freeland are each 20 minutes away.

Purple Cottage Studio

The *Purple Cottage* -- was found & salvaged (recycled!)-- moved onto the back of my property in 2012. This 16 X 12' place has been my studio in the past, but has offered overflow for friends & family. Nestled in the woods and ever-so-private, the cottage has a pull-out double futon, plus a small sleeping loft and can accommodate 1 -2 nicely (we will consider 3 if you have a small child, but it would be a tight fit!... There is a very small sleeping loft in the cottage.). The cottage offers privacy in a wooded garden setting. The bathhouse, with hot shower, vanity & toilet --all steps away (and covered) from the main cabin. The Purple Cottage sits on a shy wooded acre, with greenbelt buffers all around, maximizing the sense of privacy. We have a vintage Shasta Trailer across the driveway of the Purple Cottage, which is currently used as a music studio (and rarely as family/guest overflow), and I have my own small Artist Studio located also on the back of the property. Still, with all the little enclave of buildings, the Purple Cottage Studio retains a private feel all to itself. It is located in a quiet little neighborhood, about 6 miles from Langley & 6 miles from Freeland.. Private beach access is across the road and a 15 minute walk up the street, where you can beach comb & explore the shoreline out at our little point. We are located 6 miles from the picturesque town of Langley and equal distance from Freeland, on the south end of Whidbey. Our area is very *bike-able* and either direction will get you to town! The Purple Cottage offers a rustic retreat in a place that feels far away, but is an hour & a half from the bustling city of Seattle! There is reliable wifi available (especially now that the cottage has it's own line!) at the cottage, as well as a CD player. Beach access is a short walk away.
