We have 7+ very private acres along the North Fork of the Shenandoah River, which has been in our family for over 50 years and where we currently live. You will arrive at our house, and the campsite is approximately 150 yds down the river trail. The campsite is completely private from our house. There’s great fishing, hiking, kayaking and canoeing from the property and also plenty more nearby. We’re only a few miles outside of Strasburg which offers great antique shops, dining, and a brewery with live music on weekends. Three night maximum permitted. **Note that the North Fork is a shallow river with a slate bottom. If you plan to wade, fish or swim in the river, you may want to bring some sturdy shoes to wear in the river.Pitch your tent on a large 11x12’ platform only a few feet from the North Fork of the Shenandoah River. Enjoy peace and quiet, great fishing, kayaking and tubing, or just playing in the river. Complete privacy while camping, with small extra fees for use of our outdoor shower, kayaks and tubes and/or a shuttle up river, and even breakfast if you’d like (information on site).

Great spot along the river. Fantastic hosts. Quiet, secluded location. The weather was not great for our trip, but we still had a great time. Will try and visit again.

Private retreat

This get away was the most beautiful and amazing experience, I have had . I have been camping around some places, but if you want a place to stay on private land in Strasburg area. I recommend Mary and John .North Fork River Retreat.. look them up on hipcamp.com. The hospitality is amazing. The view and peacefulness is quite impressive..

North Fork River Retreat

Camp location is secluded down a trail adjacent to the Shenandoah River, you set your tent on a platform up about 6 feet off the trail. Very peaceful and quiet. Went for wildlife photography and saw plenty of species, from turkeys to bald eagles. Hosts were extremely friendly and helpful the entire time

What a beautiful spot along the river! Mary and John were so welcoming and kind! Would highly recommend for a peaceful spot to get away and enjoy the nature, the birds and the gorgeous river.
