We live on 15 acres in Southwest VA! We have three campsites one in a field to the left of our home, one in our driveway, and a dispersed site to the right. We live in a house on the property that is visible from two of the sites. The area is quiet and rural. Despite the secluded feel, we are 15 minutes from downtown Blacksburg! Our land is mostly wooded with two wet weather streams and across the street is Jefferson national forest with a trail running the length of the ridge. Within 20 minutes or less are several hikes on the Appalachian trail, a popular road biking loop, and a mountain biking day use area. There is limited cell service (though there is a free community Wifi spot about two miles away at Slushers Chapel). Be aware that there is a drop from the paved road to the grass parking at this time. You will need four wheel drive to access that entrance. 2wd vehicles can pull in our driveway and drive down the field to the sites.

Field site

This was a great campsite for my one night stay. First I didn’t have an AWD car and the hosts let me park just off the driveway. I also arrived pretty late and met with the hosts, who were very accommodating and showed me where I could set up my tent. The site had a nice flat area along with the ability to support a small fire. The surrounding areas have many hiking opportunities which I took advantage of! A great site and do recommend!!

Woods site

Good stuff

Leah and Justin were very nice and stayed up to show me around when I got there late, and let me stay longer than the stated check out time. I ended up staying in the field, which was nice but very windy. Their dog and ducks are chill.
