Our property, called 'Number 1', has been family owned for 5 generations and operates as a working cattle breeding farm. It backs onto the beautiful Pyrennes Ranges, and is surrounded by state forest on all sides. On the northern boundary we border the pristine Mt Sugarloaf Reservoir stocked with Redfin and home to some beautiful wildlife. We are in close proximity to some well known wineries of the region such Summerfields, Mt Avoca and The Pyrenees. Enjoy a quick day out to any of these wineries and it will be a day filled with delightful food and superb wine. If you'd rather enjoy the great outdoors, Number 1 will provide endless amounts of entertainment and fun outdoor activities. Make sure to say hello to all the resident cattle, goats, and horses during your stay!

Loved the solitude yet only minutes from town, abundant bird life, spectacular sunrise over the reservoir each morning, bush walks close by and our dog had a great time too !

Rubbing Tree Site
We both loved the solitude and the view across the water I could not find words adequate enough to praise our host Rick who was extremely obliging and always had time for us We had a caravan disaster and he cheerfully gave up half a day to get us on the road again at the end of our stay. Thanks Rick. We will be back

Yabbie dam site
We stayed at the yabbie Dam two nights this week, we should have stayed longer. Rick was a great host, supplied wood, told us where we could access various wineries etc., he even told us where to pick Mulberry’s, thanks Rick. The site itself was nice and peaceful, lots of room to position van and a very short walk to the reservoir where the Redfin were jumping on our lines. A short hour drive from home, we will definitely be back.

It was a fantastic Australia Day weekend at the Rubbing Tree site! Everyone enjoyed the peacefulness and amazing hospitality that Rick provided. The site itself was fantastic for our family. The kids love climbing the tree. They also got to meet the bulls on the property. Thank you very much, Rick; we will definitely come back again! 😊
