Leave the noise of the city behind and travel to Noojee, a town named after the Aboriginal word for contentment or place to rest. Surrounded by lush native bush and towering tree ferns, this picturesque town on the Latrobe River sits on the main access route to the ski fields of Mt Baw Baw and is home to a wide range of heritage and natural attractions. The property consists of 5 acres with a river, so you can set up a tent right next to the river and fish for dinner. The house is about 100 meters away from the camping area, but there are about 1000 Oregon trees that are 50 years old, so you can't see each other well, so you can enjoy nature freely. 4WD is recommended for easy access. We recommend tents/swags. 4WD with Heavy trailer is still very hard to enter when it is wet. Guests will have access to a toilet throughout their stay. There is a communal fire pit available, so guests can enjoy a campfire on the cool evenings. Please abide by any local fire restrictions during your stay. You can walk from my house to Noojee Heritage Centre, Trestle Bridge, Alpine Trout Farm, and Noojee Hotel for a delicious pizza, Cool beer from tool sheed and coffee from red duck cafe. You can drive to Toorongo Falls, Ada Tree in 10 minutes and Baw Baw Ski Resort in 40 minutes.Leave the noise of the city behind and travel to Noojee, a town named after the Aboriginal word for contentment or place to rest. Noojee Riverside Camp
Beautiful site by the river
This was a great place to camp at in Noojee. Kim is a lovely, wonderful host who was so kind to us the moment we met. She showed us her dogs and cats and made some kimchi pancakes for us which made us feel so welcome and comfortable. As soon as we arrived, I wished we had booked for more nights! The sites are far enough that you don't really see or hear other campers. It is a really calming site as you are right by the river and surrounded by tall, old trees. Will definitely be back, thanks Kim!

Noojee Riverside Camp
great for a long weekend!
Highly recommend! Kim and husband were super friendly - Kimchi pancake was delicious! there are 4 sites but they have enough distance between each to ensure privacy. loved that we felt like we were in an open camping area even though we were on a private site. no shower, but there is an outdoor tap for washing dishes, hands etc- though you need to walk up a hill. communal toilet is also up the hill. it's clean enough but know that you'll have to put your toilet paper into a bin. it was 28 degs this past weekend so the river was great for a dip. walking distance to a Cafe and noojee pub which is a must! the pub grounds were lovely next to the river. toorongo falls and the trout farm nearby are also a must if you don't have your own fishing gear! we caught 3 trouts to cook on the camp fire (Seong sells firewood, and so does the cafe).

Noojee Riverside Camp
Good quiet site by the La Trobe River. We came on a warm March weekend and loved camping under the trees. The water was cold but good to cool off on a hot day. There were mozzies so be prepared. There was 4 sites that were far enough away from each other that they felt private but close enough that you didn't feel completely alone. There's water for cleaning and a toilet but you have to climb up a hill from the camp site to get there and it's not close by if you have kids that need the toilet at night. Having said that we managed with our 8 and 6 year old and really enjoyed our stay. Kim is super friendly and eager to ensure you enjoy your stay.

Noojee Riverside Camp
Peaceful riverside camping!
Absolutely loved our stay on Kim’s property! Such a tranquil place along the creek with nice cleared and flat campsites. Extremely quiet and peaceful at night. Kim was such a lovely host and very easy going, she even made us some delicious Korean kimchi pancakes! Her beautiful Border Collie and French Bulldog pups (and goats!) were great company too. Overall, a great weekend stay and one that I would definitely visit again and recommend to those who want to get away from everything. Thank you Kim!
