The Trail House
Amazing location right on the Slate Valley Trails and very close to the town of Poultney. Amazingly cozy and quiet location. The bathrooms are nice and clean and the hot outdoor showers are amazing!

What a beautiful stay we enjoyed at the 'Van Site' at the Trail House. Enjoyed a beautiful starlit night filled with the sounds of nature. The showers and restrooms were very spacious and clean. Hardy, a co-host, was an available resource with a smile and local info. My Verizon cell service was unavailable.....though Wi-Fi was available ~ 100 yards from our site. I would recommend this site without hesitation.

The campsite at the TrailHouse was private, peaceful, and beautiful. The hosts thought of everything including comfortable chairs for fires in the solo stove. The bathrooms were clean and the showers were hot. We loved accessing the mtb trails right from our campsite. SVT is a special and unique experience. We can’t wait to get back up there for more.

Loved our stay. Extremely clean and well cared for. The hosts were beyond welcoming, almost as if we were house guests! The showers were a wonderful amenity and access to the trail system from camp made it the perfect stay!

I attended a women's mountain bike skills clinic at the Trailhouse in August and, when I found out they had camping availability for the Labor Day weekend, I couldn't wait to come back.
The Van Site is very flat and has a bunch of trees surrounding it for a nice combination of shade and sun. The views around the property are breathtaking and the entire vibe is one of peacefulness and joy. The toilets and showers are spotlessly clean and have nice touches like hooks and benches to put your stuff on and mirrors so you can comb your hair after showering. The limited number of sites means there's some nice energy to the place without it feeling overrun like a state park can feel.
Mostly, though, what makes this hipcamp special is the hosts, Caitrin and Hardy. I can't say enough good things about how welcoming, kind, and helpful they are.
This is a gem. Can't wait to go back.
