Rustic Pack-In, Pack-Out
Very remote, an amazing way to discover the true mountains. You are on the top of a mountain, keep you food out of the tent and in a tree to not tempt the bears.
Stunning view and very helpful hosts.
Rustic Pack-In, Pack-Out
While the campsite is beautiful and Crystal is really helpful, communicative and friendly (accommodating on our late arrival and departure) it is definitely out of the way. However, the turnoff was a sign on the property that reads “if you can read this sign, you are within range”. Given 3 recent murders of people driving up the wrong driveway around the country, and the owners admission that he packs heat and was concerned that we were lost, we can not make a full-fledged recommendation of the site.

Northern Exposure Bell tent
Crystal and her entire family(including dozens of pets) were very warm and welcoming! We would definitely recommend this site. The site was so nestled in the woods that it almost felt like backcountry camping. They were very kind to accommodate all out requests. Definitely say hello to their pets!

Northern Exposure Cozy Shack
Great option on the VTXL
Crystal and her family were AMAZING! They took care of my friend and I on our trip down the VTXL bikepacking route so well. We opted for the cozy cabin because we wanted a break from sleeping outside, and the wood furnace was HOT -- for most of the night :). They provided us with firewood, cooking supplies, water, and even some materials to make s'mores.
If you are doing the VTXL route, this stop is only about a mile and a half out of the way, and you can stay at a nice cozy farm with a beautiful family (a bit uphill, but given the climbs on this route, you can't really complain). You enter the property and camp down in a secluded spot for a good nights sleep.
