Trollhaugen Farm, purchased by my grandfather, David Gardner, was named by my Norwegian mother, Helga, after the summer home of Edvard Grieg. I grew up here and love this place. My husband likes to say that three generations of Gardner women have overseen and reworked this place. Mine is a new chapter, as I am the first one farming with intensity. Hosting guests runs in my blood, as when I was a child, my mother ran a bed and breakfast out of our house. How many times did I have to give up my bed to someone else? Many times. But I loved the hustle and bustle of people coming and going, and the fine meals my mother made based on her knowledge of European cuisine. A lovely place, many people came back year after year and some even moved to Vermont after staying with us! Maybe you will too!
