This was ranch land, but it hasn't been grazed in over 20 years, so Chihuahuan desert native plants have reclaimed most of the property, along with local desert animals such as javelina, deer, foxes, skunks, and more. Man put a heavy imprint on parts of this land, but it's slowly returning to a more natural state.

There's a 360 degree view of the mountains outside of Alpine, with dark skies and views of the stars and the Milky Way at night. This is a semi wild area and you may also see javelina, deer, foxes, and more. Or simply enjoy the peace and quiet, listening to the birds singing and the West Texas wind!Located in SW Alpine, ten minutes from downtown, this is basic camping with a tremendous view! Gently sloping former pasture land is now covered with mesquite, bee brush, numerous cacti, and other Chihuahuan desert natives. The prepared campsite has a quiet neighbor on either side (200 ft. away behind brush), but this is where the "city" fades away, and the desert begins.
