This is for only the hardiest of adventure campers. The area is arid grassland near the Chihuahuan Desert of west Texas just off US 90 and set almost halfway between Marfa and Van Horn. There are rugged desert mountains nearby with associated wildlife such as, pronghorns, antelope, mule deer, desert reptiles, spiders and many bird species unique to the area.
The sandy land is dotted by prickly pear, yucca and junipers.
