Drinking water is available at the campsites from a water hydrant. No electricity is available at campsites. There are no bathroom amenities here. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent right beside the trinity river where you can fish, hang a hammock and watch the wildlife. For trailers and RV's there is a lot of space to park and acres to roam. We do allow small animals at your own risk. You're welcome to bring your side by side. It's quite and beautiful among the pecan trees and stars. Decatur and Boyd are each only 15 minutes away. Close to town yet feels a million miles away.

Fieldsong Farm

In 2013, we bought our 13 acres from a larger parcel of land that had been owned and farmed by the Snider family for 150 years. (Note that we live on Snider Lane). The Sniders played an important part in the development of our town, Lucas, and surrounding schools. The rest of the land has been sold to two families, and all three purchasers (that includes us!) are establishing small family farms. Hurray! Plus the Snider's old house and barn next door are being renovated by the new owners! Since 2013, we have brought in water and electricity to the land, built fences, a house and several barns. We have a flock of chickens, a bunch of loud, nosey Nubian dairy goats, 2 cats and 2 dogs. We farm organic vegetables, and have planted some fruit trees. We are committed to conservation of our land and the wildlife that call it home, and are working to restore our wildflower meadow (location of the campsite) to original prairie state. Come see us; we'd like to share it all with you! Learn more about this land: Come to Fieldsong Farm, absorb the peace and serenity, and leave refreshed! Stake your tent on the edge of our tallgrass wildflower meadow, and immerse yourself in diversity where the city ends and the country begins. Enjoy a fire in the fire ring from your seat on a "porch" swing as the sun goes down and the wildlife begin their nightly symphony.
