The place is ok. The dogs bark all night and are right near the site. They also will charge for services they don’t provide and won’t give refunds. I had to write to hipcamp about it and they advised me to post this review.

I loved tent camping on Christine's land! We were the only ones there on Friday, so we had so much privacy. Christine is very friendly, and my kids loved the animal tour. We even got to feed the alpacas!

Our family had a grand time on Christine’s land. Our tent site was quiet and surrounded my trees, but we were close enough to hear the animals. My kids loved exploring and interacting with the animals. We felt secluded but safe, and it was fantastic viewing the stars with no light pollution. We’ll be visiting again.

Christine was great; very communicative, flexible, and friendly. Her property is peaceful and each camping spot seems to be well hidden from the others.
The angora goats and alpacas were an added treat.

Christine is a stupendous host! My daughters had the best time on the freshly mowed trails and keep talking about all the animals!! She had a great recommendation for breakfast (Cattleman’s)! She even helped us caravan all our camping gear we packed (which was too much). Definitely top notch experience and the girls are ready to go again!

This place was beyond and above 5 star hospitality! Christine was exceptionally gracious towards my son & I, who had arrived a little later than planned for - and right in the middle of the Ranch's Dinner Feed time. We were provided a wagon to haul our gear to the wonderfully secluded camp site. And later Christine took us on a mini farm ride in her Polaris, which my son loved, loved, loved! She even let us pick tons of fresh greens from her garden, invited us in where she made this vegan mama a fresh herb vinaigrette to accompany her dinner. AND farm fresh eggs for my non-vegan son! Soooo delicious! She answered every single one of my autistic son's endless questions and never grew tired or lost patience with him. Beautiful sunset and sunrise, amazing animals and DEFINITELY won't forget meeting them all! Made so many special memories and hope to be back soon!

Me and another dad spent a weekend night at the ranch with our daughters. Christine was extremely nice. Campsites are secluded enough from each other to provide privacy. I would highly recommend this place and would love to visit again.

Our family had such a fun night camping out here! Our kids loved the animals and Christine is such a kind, welcoming host. Enjoyed the stars in the night sky and the coyotes howling at night. So close to home, and yet we felt like we were way out in the wilderness. Great for a quick escape from the city.

Texas Prairie and Fiber Ranch is a wonderful place to spend some time away from the daily grind. I took my 9 yr old son on a perfect spring day. The campground is in the back of host Christines property. Up front are many cool animals to interact with such as chickens, goats, alpacas and dogs. Christine is a fantastic host. She is friendly and was more than happy to teach us about her ranch. The campgrounds are secluded behind a row of trees and brush. There are trails cut out to explore in the immediate area, however you can also delve into a large wooded area further back. Our experience was definitely memorable and we plan on returning frequently.

We were looking for a reasonably close location to Dallas to getaway an evening for my son and me. We scheduled to camp with Christine and she was an incredible host. She was there to welcome us when we arrived and showed us all the camp sites which are nestled behind a tree line and very private, as well as let us borrow her wagon to carry our gear to our chosen site. There are several campfire rings set up and she can provide wood, or you're welcome to forage for dead wood on the property. The next morning, Christine gave us a tour of her farm which was simply amazing to see. The goats were incredibly friendly as were the guardian dogs. The alpacas were shy until they realized you had some treats for them! Afterwards, Christine directed us to the Cattleman's Cafe in Blue Ridge nearby which had some great grub. My son and I had a great time and we would definitely recommend this to others.

This place was awesome! The animals were so cool to see and we were able to pet the dogs. Christine was extremely nice and gave some local tips for food and things to do. Would highly recommend this camping spot!!

Christine gave us a great tour with the animals. She knows the character traits of each animal and she gave us lots of information and tell very hearty stories about her own alpacas and goats. My kids loved it.

Great little getaway from the city

Nice place to camp just outside the city. Host was very accommodating of my unique request to just have a family campfire rather than camp out this time. Would love to go back to see the animals! The only negatives were 1) the website only gave me the option to choose 1 or 0 vehicles. I needed at least 2 or 3, so I emailed the host right away but I guess she didn’t get my message because she was surprised when my group pulled up with 3 vehicles. 2) as others have mentioned, the dogs do bark a lot when you walk or drive by to get to the camping area and also just at random things most of the evening. If you want quiet, pick a spot further back. We stayed up front because of the walk back. From what we saw (arrived after dark) it’s a beautiful place!

I loved this place! It was beautiful, quiet and serene. The sites are located in the back of her property, there are pathways cleared to the sites and also to walk around and explore the area. The campsites are private and far away enough from one another. The host Christine is so nice and she makes sure your stay is comfortable. The animal tour was super fun. I highly recommend this place!

Absolutely amazing stay at Beckens' Fiber Ranch! My boyfriend and I wanted to try our hand at primitive camping for two nights and Christine (the hostess) made us feel right at home. I loved getting to see how a ranch works and enjoyed the animal encounter provided. The alpacas were like sweet soft tinier camels and the Angora goats were hilarious. Water on site was delicious and we even became good friends with one of the pups, "Buddy".
12/10 MUST SEE!!!

Christine was an awesome host!!! The campsite was private and awesome! We had our tent in the shade and the trees swaying in the wind gave us a nice sound to fall asleep to at the end of the night. Plenty of area to hike around and the animal tour was excellent! We learned a lot about Angora goats and alpacas. Such a good time!!!!! Lots of friendly dogs working to protect the animals and the stars at night were crystal clear!!!

Christine was awesome and very accommodating. She made sure we had means to get to the campsite with our gear from the front of the property and was flexible in when we left/toured the ranch. She is doing a great job to love those animals and make the world a shiny place.

Me and my kids had a great time camping here! The camping spot provided enough shade to keep us cooled down a bit and the view under the stars at night was phenomenal. The next morning we joined Christine for feeding the alpacas, sheep, and goats! The kids loved it and it was a much-needed escape from the suburbs. I recommend packing light as it is about a 5 min walk to the campsite.

We had a lovely stay at Christine’s ranch! Such a sweet and peaceful place. Christine was so welcoming, and showed us around her property and explained how fiber farming works. She has cut trails all around the property that you can walk and explore. The animals were very cute, lots of new puppies around. The campsite is secluded and a bit of a walk from the parking area, so prepare accordingly (we didn’t, but christine let us borrow a wagon to transport camping gear and it was all good.) Overall would 100% recommend!

Very nice walk in camp ground! It was private and secluded. The dogs (fences in but on the property) barked sometimes, but it was never a bother. The fire pit was awesome and the stars were beautiful.

Christine was a great host and helped us find a place to camp on the property. She even offered to mow a completely new site for us, if there weren't inclined to any of the existing sites. We really enjoyed the animal encounter and appreciated how knowledge she is about her flock :) Expect to hear a TON of coyotes (which was pretty cool).
The place where you camp is a little far from the spigot so make sure you bring enough containers for your water. Overall, a really great experience and would love to visit again when it's not as hot.

Christine is such a fabulous host. She takes pride in her land and ensuring every group camping has plenty of privacy. There were 3 groups there and we barely saw anyone else.
She also came to the rescue when my check engine light came on and got on her computer and found a place in McKinney open on a Saturday afternoon. She even offered to keep my dogs in her yard, to make it easier on us, although, we decided to be safe and take them with us. Super thoughtful and made a stressful situation more manageable. She has a really laid back mentality and just wants everyone to enjoy her land, obviously while being respectful to her animals and other campers. Had we not had dogs with us, would have loved to spend more time with her animals. She also has a great roommate who gave us a ride to our spot and dropped off fish food to check out the pond.
Keep in mind, it's a few minutes to hike in, and I'm a heavy camper, but she has a wagon, so worked out just fine. She also carves out trails with her tractor, so you can explore the property. We were there when it was super hot in June, but there are enough trees and water access points to manage. Would be even more amazing with nice weather and a few more options of places to set up. She will give you a tour and suggestions on where to set up.
Love how peaceful it is. You can hear minimal traffic and plenty of animal sounds, so you really get the full ranch experience.

Christine’s property is the perfect little getaway! We only camped one night but wish we would have had longer. Christine is so friendly and greeted us on arrival and led us from the car past all of the cute animals to help us find the perfect spot to set up our tent. There were a couple other pairs of campers on the property so she helped us find a spot that was private from them. She has the perfect set up with her lawn mower to help mow paths and any tall grass for whatever spot you want. She provided a portable fire ring which was perfect for our campfire. Christine is kind enough to allow campers to use her hose to rinse off (we used it to wet down our dog since it was hot out). She provides animal tours for an additional cost which we did the morning before leaving. It is WELL worth the money. You get to be up close and personal with all of her amazing dogs, puppies, goats, and alpacas. She lets you give them snacks and give them all of the cuddles. Also make sure to buy some honey from her that her bees produce! Next time we head back to Texas, we will definitely be camping here again!
