We live on a 36-acre wildlife-friendly off-grid property in the hills of Franklin, Tasmania. Surrounded by forest, we have amazing views of the Huon River and the Valley all the way to Bruny Island. In the evening you will be surrounded by wildlife coming out of the forest to graze. Being completely off-grid, we grow our own food, raise chickens, collect our own water and generate solar energy all year around. The Franklin river promenade with its cafes, restaurants, and attractions is only 1km away. You will stay in a Lotus Bell tent that is equipped with a queen size bed with memory foam mattress, some kitchen facilities, a fridge, a gas camping cooker, a dining set up and wood heater for the colder nights. We have 240V power connection in the tent. The outhouse bathroom (yours alone to use) is up the hill. It has a shower over bathtub, a composting toilet and wash basin. Our property is fully off grid. We use rainwater. Please BYO drinking water or boil the rainwater before drinking. The Bell tent is located in the upper part of the property in a cleared section right next to the forest edge. You will have great views down onto Franklin, the Valley and across to Bruny Island. You are welcome to walk into our private forest, proper shoes and healthy knees required. We live on the property too and will be available for directions and advice on what to do in the area.

Lotus Bell Tent Franklin
We enjoyed our stay at Lotus Bell. Very peaceful in a rural setting. We appreciated Tobi taking the time to show us a little of his knife making craft.

Lotus Bell Tent Franklin
What a beautiful spot! So close to Hobart and such a perfect way to start our holiday. Marisa and Toni were amazing hosts and the set up was cosy and had everything we could have possibly needed. Great off-grid bathroom too! The wildlife was gorgeous with so many birds and wallabies right up close to the tent. The view of the valley is stunning.

Lotus Bell Tent Franklin
Such a gorgeous experience. All the little details were considered, the stars at night were breathtaking. Staying in the tent for very hot days and cold nights, as well as a big downpour for 2 days, at all times we were able to stay comfortable. The inside tent fore place kept us super toasty and was suchna treat to cook on when it was very wet outside. There was so much wildlife and the rent is nestles amount the trees with a gorgeous outlook. Bathroom was stunning, although we didn't make use of the bathtub, the view and opening windows were breathtaking. A highlight was picking the wild blackberries and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Tobi and Marisa are very welcoming, kind and thoughtful and made us feel very welcome. Thank you, we wish you all the success and happiness in your new home

Unique glamping, star gazing, views
What an utterly magnificent breath of fresh air this stay is. From easy booking, through to friendly and helpful communication, then to a wonderful warm welcome by the hosts. This is truly a unique, environmentally friendly and sustainable lifestyle that has been carved out of the rambling bush block and it is a privilege to visit. The tent itself is just stunning, it sits in stark contrast to the green forest edging it and almost has a luminescence about it. Inside there is everything you could ever need for a true "glamping" experience. There are so many thoughtful touches as well. The bedding is divine and a restful sleep assured on the comfortable bed with such quiet surroundings. It was magical. The private little bathroom studio adjacent to the tent is perfect. It really is a home away from home. Luxury camping! Plentiful wildlife at night, stunning views and wonderful hosts who allow you your privacy but are super responsive and helpful when needed. We haven't even got to the best bit ... the stars. Honestly, sitting outside on the deck at night, it felt like being wrapped in a sparkling blanket of the blackest velvet. If you appreciate star gazing and you chance upon the right evening, there is the most stunning night display. I'd highly recommend downloading a star gazing app before your stay. I whole heartedly recommend this stay if you're looking for a body and mind break for yourself, or for a romantic getaway for a couple. Thank you Marisa for the break I needed.
