3 Creeks Camp and Nature Preserve

14 sites ¡ Lodging, RVs, Tents10 acres ¡ Anderson, SC
This Property was purchased by Grandfather in the 70s  and then was passed to my Mother. In 2013 I decided to live life differently and start from the ground up building with natural materials and found materials. At that time I was fortunate enough to have the land passed to me and I started building a home for myself and to be close to my mothers home nearby. After achieving the basics I decided that the best use of this beautiful land was to create a place for people to relax and enjoy, a park like environment dedicated to preserving natural beauty and amplifying it through a permaculture lifestyle. 8 years later I am blown away at how far the dream has become a reality and love sharing my space with people from all over the country.

Free use of kayaks and a canoe on an undeveloped 18 acre lake is included when you camp here. Several miles of trails, dirt roads and streams wind through hundreds of acres which you are free to explore. The property has been owned by members of our family for 75 years or more with areas of it family-owned since the 1800's. A large portion of the property is dedicated to sustainable loblolly pine forests dating back to the 1980's. A significant area of the property is dedicated to native hardwood forest and has some of the oldest and largest white oak, poplar, elm and shortleaf pines in the upstate. The remainder of the property is pasture; home to Black Angus cattle. We look forward to sharing this unique property with you!

Serenity on the Saluda

1 site ¡ RV, Tent40 acres ¡ Honea Path, SC
Just a small piece of God's creation right on the Saluda River. Come and enjoy the solitude and serenity of this spot on the Saluda River, surrounded by thousands of acres of forests and farms. Camp on the river, in the field or overlook the river from the high bluff in the old growth forest.  The gravel road going down to the river is finished, I drive my Honda Civic down daily and no issues (very low clearance). Kayaking from Holiday Dam to the camp site is incredible. The trip takes about 3.5 hours with lots of shoals and rapids. You can also kayak or tube from the camp site to Erwin Mill bridge in a little over an hour. This is more of a river float with just a couple rapids, but equally as beautiful.

The Boondocks

4 sites ¡ Tents20 acres ¡ Antreville, SC
The Boondocks is 20 acres of nature-lover’s paradise — a place to come to get away from the hustle and bustle of life! It currently offers 3 primitive walk-in tent campsites on the Rocky River with shared access to Governor's Creek. If you are looking for a new adventure - bring your jon boats, kayaks, paddle boards, canoes, and/or pedal boats to put in on the river for a day of boating! The river flows into Lake Secession which could make for a full weekend of exploring the area. For larger boats, the Lake Secession Boat Landing is only 5.5 miles away. You can park your boat trailer there or bring it back to The Boondocks. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway - just bring your fishing pole and watch the sun rise and set on the water! Our sites are large enough to make it feel like there is no one around! Find your favorite spot within the 1 acre sites and set up for a quiet and peaceful weekend! HISTORY OF THE LAND: You are free to roam the 28 acres which includes a large creek with small waterfalls throughout. On your stroll throughout the property you will encounter different species of wildlife including but not limited to birds, rabbits, squirrels, and white-tailed deer. The Boondocks was once home to Native Americans and you can find evidence of that throughout the property. It's rumored that it was also once home to a post office during the Pony Express era. You will find remnants of the post office's foundation on the property. When we purchased this land back in 2018, we were told that it was also rumored to be where Manse Jolly hid his treasure. After much searching, we've found no treasure but it's fun to think it may have once been a place for such history!! LOCATION: The exact location of The Boondocks will be disclosed after booking, along with a site map showing you clear instructions on how to locate your site! PARKING: There is parking on or nearby each site but these are walk-in tent sites only due to the nature of the terrain. Common dangers in our area that Hipcampers should be aware include but are not limited to things such as ticks, wild animals, poison oak, dangerous drop-offs, strong currents, and weather risks. DISCLAIMERS - 1. THIS IS PRIVATE PROPERTY AND TRESPASSERS WILL BE PROSECUTED. YOU MUST HAVE A RESERVATION WITH SOUTHEAST CAMP AND TRAVEL, LLC THROUGH HIPCAMP TO BE ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY. 2. ALL VEHICLES MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE RESERVATION AND ANY VEHICLES FOUND NOT REGISTERED WILL BE TOWED AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE. 3. NO HUNTING IS ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY. 4. Craytonville Campsite

1 site ¡ RV4 acres ¡ Belton, SC
When you lay your head on our property you will be laying your head on Cherokee land. The property is at the meeting place of five soperate trails of the Cherokee, which is why it is called Trail Rd. Across the street you may pull water from the old well which has recently been restored. Craytonville is the town that grew up around the well, and used to be the stomping grounds of John C. Calhoune and for many years was believed to be the place where Abraham Lincoln's parents met. This was believed until 2015 when DNA disproved the rumor, but still the rumor is absolutely fascinating! South Carolina recently named the campsite property as a historical landmark. So, bring the metal detectors! You may find an arrowhead!Learn more about this land:We have four acres but are adjoined to a 500 acre farm where you will see cattle grazing and other beautiful country sights. We have goats in the barn you may feed and pet as well as feeding the chickens and using any eggs you find. Its winter so you may not get many right now.

Haunted Barn- Pickens County Horror

1 site ¡ Tent10 acres ¡ Liberty, SC
Little did we know when we moved here, but this bit of land has a haunted history that we would love to share with you. This area is the home of the legend of the Pickens County Horror, made famous in a graphic novel penned by Mike Mignola, the creator of Hellboy. The original builder of our home was killed in our basement by his son. He was blown up and set on fire by a sabotaged gas stove and then left to burn to death in the backyard. There are strange noises and creatures that can be heard and sometimes seen at night. Neighbors are sometimes menaced by…something, which is why you’ll sometimes hear gunshots in the wee hours of the night. The Liberty Boom is often heard at random times during day and night. --- Have a stay in your tent or a hammock under our barn patio. We have a gravity shower and a camp toilet onsite. There's also a picnic table for your use. Guests have their own parking spaces. There are trails to use right at the end of the driveway, and we can even be talked into taking you out on a haunted night hike if you’re up to it. Don’t be alarmed if you see the neighborhood donkey and horses in the front yard. Situated very close to Clemson University, upstate lakes, the Blue Ridge Mountains, and Sassafras Mountain, SC’s highpoint. Guests will also receive PDF versions of: *SC’s Scariest Places with locations of other nearby haunted spots written by me *The Pickens County Horror by Mike Mignola with added maps to locations found in the graphic novel *Guests can also join the waitlist for a free copy of Hillbilly Lovecraft by me when it is released
