This property was once an old coal mine from the 1800s til 1915. It still has the ruins of the old shaft and brickworks and still has the old paymaster's building which is visible from Cunningham Hwy.& Plenty of shady trees. And a creek And just down the road is the old heritage tourist railway that host rides Also mining museum up the road as wellThis campsite offers a safe and welcoming space for weary travellers to stop overnight. Our property is only 300m off the Cunningham Highway, which makes it very convenient. Dogs welcome.You can enjoy access to our 13 acre working property with creek down the back and a dam up the front(with the back half of the property being a working machinery yard). There is a fire pit and a woodfired BBQ, with plenty of free wood..This campsite suits self-contained campers caravans or weary truck drivers with own camping toilet/shower amenities. When you enter through big gate go 15 metres then camp site is directly on right 5 m back from road

DONT GO THERE
What a absolute joke this place was. Please don't bother with this rubbish dump. Save your money and camp beside the highway to have a pleasurable experience.

Directions were wrong, camping area was entirely a surface of thick ash dust and lumps of charcoal with peppered and surrounded by thick weeds and rubbish. Direct line of sight with no privacy to the very nearby highway and work sites that the camp was in, was advised they'd be doing loud work there before sunrise. There's a free overnight rest area ten minutes away with much better conditions.

It’s perfect for an overnight stay. Ground is fairly level, and quiet of a night. There is a paid water facility only 100meters away.

Once its cleared up, where you don't have to camp next to containers, then it might be alright

Nice place for a stopover. Didnt get to explore much as i fell asleep soon as i got there and left in the morning. It is right next to the highway so there is a bit of traffic noise if you're a light sleeper. But outside of that it was nice and would stay again. Thanks Julian
