There is a designated area that can be hired for parties and private functions with marquees available if required. If you are looking for clothing optional or nude camping we fully welcome you to do so. However we need to know at the time of booking so we can allocate an appropriate location so all campers are comfortable. Pets are welcome and must be under control and on a leash as there are farm animals kept on this property. Camp fires are permitted in communal fire areas or at your camp in provided fire drums. The only exception will be if a local fire ban is activated. You are welcome to bring your own firewood, or you can collect it off the ground. No chainsaws allowed. Please note that there is no potable water on site. You must bring your own DRINKING water. During extreme weather events the property can be affected, so if rain is forecast, please call before heading out. Things to do and see: The Grandchester hotel is a short 10min walk away and offers cold drinks, great meals and friendly country hospitality. Spicers Hidden Vale is approximately 6km away and perfect for bike riders. Rosewood train museum showcases steam locomotives and Grandchester scale model rail rides run once a month. Stonesthrow is a rural property in the Illinbah valley, nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, with council approval for limited camping (4WD only - leave no trace). So if you want to escape the crowds at public campgrounds, your privacy and enjoyment are assured! We are NOT a 4WD park so vehicles must be parked up at your site on arrival and left there unless leaving the property to go to town/tourist activities. Any exploration of the property or travel to toilets is strictly on foot only- NO 4WD'ing. Anyone driving around the property will be asked to leave. There is 500 m of (shallow) creek frontage, kms of walking/riding trails and grassy creek flats for recreational activities. Over the decades, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses. There is also a variety of fruit trees and plantation timber. Caravans are restricted on where they can access- with no guarantee of sufficient sunlight for solar. Elevated/remote sites cannot be reached with a caravan- please bear this in mind if booking with a caravan. Elevated/remote sites require capable 4WD's with off-road/AT/mud tyres only and campers need to be fully self-sufficient including having their own chemical camping toilets. If you don't have your own commercial chemical camping toilet then you will be given a choice of sites with access to facilities. We have a 50 acre elevated bush block with space for approximately 80 people with tents, camper trailers or caravans. We have a range of different sites with two main camping areas and many smaller semi isolated spots. Caravans are best set up on the lower campground where the main view is, and we send noisier groups in tents or swags to our upper campground. If you want to be away from the main groups you can choose one of the quieter spots. There is a council maintained 2 km gravel road which provides access & most vehicles can make it here reliably in any weather. Please note that you are unlikely to make it up our road due to the lack of grip on the gravel if you have a front wheel drive vehicle with any significant sized trailer. Our campgrounds can also be very slippery if wet but dry out within a few hours. WE ASK OUR CAMPERS TO BRING A TOILET IF THEY'RE STAYING MORE THAN ONE NIGHT. We now sell bagged firewood for $20/ 20kg and fill LPG bottles, cash only. We're happy for campers to gather firewood from the bush around the campgrounds, bring your preferred method of cutting it. We are dog friendly but ask that campers keep their pets on a lead to stop them wandering onto adjacent properties or chasing our wildlife. The camping area has no amenities, however it shares a spectacular view south across the QLD/NSW border from 300 meters above sea level, with Mt. Maroon 6 km away. Also visible are Mt. Barney and Mt. Lindsay. The nearest toilets and showers are at Maroon Dam or Rathdowney, 15mins away. The local area has a tourism focus with plenty of opportunities to explore the Scenic Rim. Mt. Maroon and Mt. Barney offer walking trails to the top, Lake Moogera and Maroon Dam are not far away for jetskis, kayaking and swimming and we also have several eateries within 25 minutes. Scenic Rim website has more details. Dog friendly. We have an abundance of wildlife from Wedge Tailed Eagles to Bettongs and Koala. We also get some dangerous snakes and 2.5mt Lace Monitors (Goannas). I often have campers bring telescopes and big cameras to take advantage of the long range views and dark night sky. Kids are classed as age 10 and under. If aged 11 and over, please book at adult rate.

Stonesthrow is a rural property in the Illinbah valley, nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, with council approval for limited camping (4WD only - leave no trace). So if you want to escape the crowds at public campgrounds, your privacy and enjoyment are assured! We are NOT a 4WD park so vehicles must be parked up at your site on arrival and left there unless leaving the property to go to town/tourist activities. Any exploration of the property or travel to toilets is strictly on foot only- NO 4WD'ing. Anyone driving around the property will be asked to leave. There is 500 m of (shallow) creek frontage, kms of walking/riding trails and grassy creek flats for recreational activities. Over the decades, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses. There is also a variety of fruit trees and plantation timber. Caravans are restricted on where they can access- with no guarantee of sufficient sunlight for solar. Elevated/remote sites cannot be reached with a caravan- please bear this in mind if booking with a caravan. Elevated/remote sites require capable 4WD's with off-road/AT/mud tyres only and campers need to be fully self-sufficient including having their own chemical camping toilets. If you don't have your own commercial chemical camping toilet then you will be given a choice of sites with access to facilities. We reserve the right to view/verify your toilet before allowing you access to the elevated/remote sites. Well behaved dogs welcome as long as they are on a lead when moving about the property. The common area (old shearing shed) has composting toilets, communal fridge, microwave, jug, drinking water, sink for washing up and table/chairs. Our 1000 acres mountain top working cattle and horses farm is only 45 minutes from Brisbane CBD. It offers spectacular Glasshouse mountains and ocean views. Activities include hiking, swimming, canoeing, horse riding and more. You can bring your own tent, caravan, motorhome or stay in bunkhouse that sleeps 10 with shower. From many parts of the farm you have a beautiful views encompassing Malenny, Glasshouse Mountains , Bribie island, Moreton Island, Stradbroke Island, Redcliffe and Brisbane Port Site. We have a beautiful deepwater lake that's perfect for swimming, canoeing. The property is traversed by a number of rain forested creeks and ravines which are perfect for adventure hiking and rock climbing. We can also take you horse riding around the farm for a couple of hours or to the local winery if you prefer longer ride. We cater for all levels of riding. We have many panoramic campsites for you to choose from. These are suited to any one with the swag, tent, camper, caravan or motorhome. You need to be self sufficient. For those liking the comforts of home we have a bunkhouse which sleeps 10 and has electricity, water, flush toilet, shower, stove, microwave and TV. Linen is not supplied. For those without transport Dakabin train station is 25 min from the farm. Pick up and drop off to the station can be arranged. There is a wide variety of shops and restaurants less than 10 min away.

Try tandem hang-gliding and paragliding and a full range of hang gliding and paragliding courses or just bring your own stand-up paddleboards and kayaks. Our lake is lovely and clean and is great to swim in. We opened up our working cattle and turf farm to promote Hang gliding and paragliding, we believe the more people see it, then the more people may like to come for a tandem flight or learn to fly with us. You can buy a friend or loved one a gift of a life time. Tandem hang gliding gift vouchers are very popular, as you get to take off from the property and flyover you’re campsite and then up to 2500ft. Then come and land right next to your friends and family at the Oz Sky Ranch. We pride ourselves on keeping the property lovely and clean. We are also opening our home and farm to you. So please respect it and enjoy it as we do. We have 5 designated campsites positioned around the property. Within the designated sites, there are camp spots that we rotate. Please check with us to see what ones are open. We need to rotate the sites and rest them. This is how we keep them well-maintained and looking amazing. If it is wet weather we will close down sites and recommend other spots. We rotate the sites and rest them. Then they don’t get overused. We want our camp sites to look lovely for you. We pride our self’s on having a lovely property. If it is bad weather, we will recommend another site or we can give you a full refund. Campfires are allowed at designated camp spots when fire bans aren't in place. Firewood is available to purchase . We have a no dog policy. We accept groups however we have strict rules around this, so please discuss with us first. If you are up early in the morning you may be lucky enough to see the best in QLD barefoot water skiers training on the lake and also tandem hang gliders getting towed up from the airstrip.
