A perfect spot to relax under the stars! A quiet, private, bush camp experience with a seasonal creek, mango orchard and dam. Pitch your tent or set up your caravan either down near the dam, in a secluded bush setting, or closer to the house yard depending on what you prefer. Enjoy a bush walk around the property, taking in the natural Australian bush environment and enjoy the native wildlife. You may find kookaburras, king fishers, kangaroos, goannas and wallabies while exploring and can relax by a crackling fire at night. Each camp site is private with no other campers booked in the space on the same day. Guests are required to be fully self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Property has secure key pad access.

Black River Bush Retreat Camper
Fantastic site, beautiful property, Nicole was lovely and really helpful, friendly and welcoming. It was a great little escape and the perfect space for a camp overnight with a fire and the beautiful bush of the property. Would highly recommend.

Black River Bush Retreat Dam Site
Heavenly escape near Townsville
This peaceful, special place was exactly what I needed. There are a number of private, lovely sites on Nicole’s large property that let you instantly feel far away from town + crowds + noise. Easy to get to but feels like going bush - silent stargazing by generously stocked fire, wildlife and birds everywhere. The family were very kind and welcoming. Thank you Nicole. I’ll be back for sure.

Black River Bush Retreat Dam Site
Fabulous quiet space. Awesome birdlife visiting the freshwater plus some wallabies . We enjoyed a kyak paddle even though the water level is getting down now into the dry season. Fabulous sunsets great firepit available . Just felt like paradise

Black River Bush Retreat Orchard
We had such a lovely stay here. Nicole and her husband were so lovely and helpful, bringing us fire wood and letting the girls feed their horses. Definitely recommend. We stayed at both the dam and the orchid with a Ram 2500 and a 21ft van. Heaps of room to turn around and nice and flat.

Black River Bush Retreat Orchard
Nicole's property is fabulous 👌. Very spacious site amongst the orchard. Super convenient to Townsville and super quit. Hosts offered power but we were ok with our own setup.
