"Abbieglassie" is 110km south of MItchell in Mulga country with some box flats and pretty waterholes on the Wallum Creek. We have 30,216ha and run cattle and some sheep. There is  plenty of bird life. Camping is on the One Mile Waterhole. This waterhole never has been known to be dry and is ideal for camping and some fish are caught. There is no mobile coverage here. Bookings are confirmed as soon as possible and there's plenty of room. Please contact us before booking in case there are other bookings for that date. If you need to contact us call the landline (access via My Trips). You'll need to be self-contained (your own toilet) as we have no amenities just a beautiful setting for you to rest your weary head. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place. Please check with us before lighting a fire. Dogs permitted but must be on a lead and well controlled.

Great birdwatching
What a beautiful isolated camping spot with outstanding birdwatching along the waterhole! Peaceful and quiet apart from the birdsong. I am very much looking forward to visiting again.

Journeys part of the adventure
Be prepared for an off road drive (rough at times) through good farm station scenery to arrive at riverside campsite. River was as brown as the Yarra but maybe it clears up at times. See cows, sheep, and the odd emu and kangaroos on the way. We were lucky enough to have seen an echidna too. Not much to do there so bring a book or good friends.

One Mile Waterhole
We stayed for two nights in this quiet camp spot and had it to ourselves. Directions were accurate and easy to follow as we drove from St George. We enjoyed the tranquility, bird life, walks and cooking on the camp fire at night. I would highly recommend Abbieglassie.

One Mile Waterhole
We had a great time, a dip in the water hole was delightful, and plenty of bird life. Fantastic hosts Mosquitoes were vicious, hopefully they won't be so thick come winter time
