You have to use our rowboat to get to the property. Our rowboat has a turquoise blue bottom and the oars will be underneath.
This is not comfortable camping. It is more roughing than a regular campsite because there's not even a washroom or an outhouse. On the other hand it is a beautiful section of the river and the land is right at the meeting of two rivers, the black and the moira. If you boat a bit up the black river (back past where you parked) you can tie the boat a walk up a set of rapids which is super beautiful with little swimming spots along the way. Alternatively you can row towards the reeds and the river opens up and there are beautiful granite outcroppings. Go past the last cottages and there is a big rock you can walk up and have a picnic and enjoy the view. Hiding up there are some very deep rock crevices. This is moira conservation authority land. If you paddle down the river through the tall pines, you come to a very small set of rapids which you can line a canoe past but you can't really take the row boat around. Don't get caught in these rapids.... you could hit rocks and wreck the boat and it won't be a pretty sight. If you can tie the boat before you get to the rapids, it's a nice place to swim. You can also walk in the forest behind the property. If you can't see the cottages, you are probably on a right of way. If you meet people, you should talk to them, be friendly and tell them you are staying on Edith's land at the tip of the peninsula. This is not the city.
