Escape to a secluded cabin or campsite in beautiful Hocking Hills. The cabins and primitive campsite/boondocking plot are nestled into 58 acres of private property submerged in a hardwood forest. Explore natural springs, creeks, meditation areas, and hiking trails. Breathtaking views provide a tranquil getaway from the overstimulation of everyday life. Raven's Retreat is located near many Hocking Hills sites. Pollinator Cabin, tiny house, sleeps 2 Camp Shroom Hocking Hills, 3 plots ~ 100 feet from each other, sleeps 12 Family-owned and operated, our cabins and primitive campsites are designed to promote privacy so guests can immerse in this natural environment, rejuvenate and recharge. More Detailed Description: Raven's Retreat is a beautiful, 58 acre property located in the Hocking Hills, 2 miles east of Laurelville, Oh. This land has remained mostly untouched and was purchased due to its resemblance to the deep woods of West Virginia, home to Raven's mother, Lisa Mahaney. The property is dear to us and we do everything we can to protect and maintain it in its natural state. It contains 4 creeks, hiking trails, a pond, and the top of a ridge. There are several endangered species including whippoorwills and two lined salamanders that reside at Raven's Retreat. There is an abundance of wildlife present due to keeping this property as wild as possible. While no hunting or fishing is allowed, wildlife viewing stations have been setup for guests to observe the creatures. Birdwatching is abundant here, and we are working with local environmental specialists to ensure that we create a thriving, healthy place for the birds. We do encourage some wild edible foraging of plant foods, which are abundant here. We do our best to keep the human traffic on the property low but we want people to feel free to explore our challenging trails. There are about 2 miles of Hiking trails on the property that are not heavily traveled. The elevation change from the top of our ridge to the deepest part of our creek bed is over 220ft. If you plan to hike our trails, please keep strong scents such as perfumes to a minimum. This is often overlooked, but it can be confusing and disturb the wildlife. We greatly respect our water, and have natural springs here on the property. More important to us is that our guests have a quality experience rather than flooding the woods with a lot of people. If you want to venture out, there are also many famous parks with hiking trails in the area, such as Rock House, Conkles Hollow, and many other Hocking Hills State Parks. Quiet hours are to be honored and kept when the sun goes down. A respectful noise level is to be kept in consideration for our neighbors and nocturnal animals. 💡 Please note, we do consider the effects of light pollution and use particular lights to lessen our impact on the night creatures. Please do not bring your animals with you if you are staying at Pollinator Cabin here at Raven's Retreat. We love animals but in the past, domestic animals such as dogs and cats have attacked our wildlife more than once so we ask that they do not come with you to this particular space. Domestic animal friends are welcome to come to our campsites, but must be tied out or on a leash while at the campsites or while hiking through the woods. No domestic animals are permitted to be off a leash in the woods on the property. There are endangered species present here. Our space is for all peaceful people and we recommend the mentality of, "we're here together, so let's learn to live well together." We have been Vegan Lifestyle Coaches for years, known for introducing people to plant derived foods, so don't be surprised if we leave food out for you to try. Hope you will love our spaces as much as we do! Your hosts, Raven and Dustin/Dj.

Camp Shroom Hocking Hills
Exceptionally Great Place to Stay
Loved the privacy and being tucked away in the woods but the driveway gave us enough clearance for some beautiful stargazing with no light pollution at all. This was our first time taking the dog camping who also loved the experience. Campsite was very clean and the porta John up the driveway was perfectly clean as well. Would happily camp here again every time we visit hocking hills! :)

Camp Shroom Hocking Hills
Incredible stars, quiet, and serene
What a beautiful serene camping setting and experience. There are only three sites, and all are pretty private. We stayed in the Shroom site and it’s at the end so it’s very private. Site is flat, stone camp ring is wonderful and love the picnic table, hammock, and bench. For us, the sky was clear both nights and we had an unbelievably incredible view of stars, the Milky Way, the ISS, and other satellites. There were so many stars, it was very hard to find the few constellations we are used to seeing. Incredible! Plus, we loved both of the meditation areas, spotless PortaJohn, and great communication from them. Numerous Hocking Hills hikes are 10-20 minutes away, and we had a wonderful Sunday brunch at The Ridge Inn in Laurelville. You have to try their homemade donuts. Wow!! Definitely recommending to all of our friends and hope to find a weekend we can bring friends and use all three sites.

Camp Shroom Hocking Hills
Great place to have a quiet weekend
Great spot to camp. Very quiet and private spot. We loved having a campfire and just relaxing in the campground. The bathroom was super clean and close by. The stars were amazing and we were able to see the Milky Way from our spot! We will definitely be returning!

Camp Shroom Hocking Hills
Camping in the woods.
Had a nice, quiet stay. The Shroom site was a short a distance from the other 2 sites, so that was nice for privacy. Be sure to look at the property map, so you don’t miss the trails that they have running through the woods (we almost overlooked them). The trails were a nice pleasant surprise, that we quite enjoyed (I love exploring). Even though the site was very primitive, with no running water or electricity (which added to the rustic feel), the port-a-potty was very clean and well maintained. I would definitely stay there again.

Camp Shroom Hocking Hills
Shroom Site
Exceptional primitive camping experience. Car camping available in specific sites. Really special place with some primitive upgrades: Portapottie on-site but far enough away from sites stocked with tp and a mirror. At each site; Basic charcoal grill with grill brush (only need charcoal and tongs). Firepit (wood for sale in town 5min away) A large picnic table Bench to sit by fire Dog tie out line A cute trail into the woods reveals a magical hammock swinging in the shade for you! Fresh water refill hose available at main house Black raspberries and Blackberries all over property. Soft breezes and mid day hikes. Natural work out gym in the woods. Good communication from hosts on what to expect and details of their small town. Go roast a habanero, add some lime and kosher salt ……have a spiritual awakening in nature. You deserve it.
