www.ontop.camp Update! 11.11.23 the leaves down opening up views that were not there before! If sites are booked still msg asking for availability, there’s a chance! Welcome! Our farm is vast and sparse, focusing on sustainability while giving back to the community. We are a safe haven for animals and humans alike. Situated on and between two peaks of Little Phoenix Mountain range in Jefferson Ashe County. Our sites’ altitudes range from 3100 feet to over 3600 feet, which is a lot of slope and hillside to say the least. As a guest you will be offered insane long views and limited exposure to the oldest registered breed of bovine in the world. Our Scottish Highland Cattle are majestic and fit in quite well in the NC mountainside. Located in the Blue Ridge mountains, we have natural water springs popping out, some of which are tapped to drink from. (10.1.23 currently farm springs are not accessible to guests, shatley springs up the road approx 4miles north has a public spring that we highly recommend) If you are looking for a camping spot that is only 5-10 minutes from town (Jefferson NC or the quaint Downtown West Jefferson) but feels like you're in the middle of no where, then we have it! The Blue Ridge Parkway is less than 20 minutes away and the New River equally close. OnTopOfTheWorld.camp *firewood is available if you pay on site you will have to use Venmo OnTop.camp

Site 1 Maple Skyline 3580 ft
We are here for the views!
If you are here for the views with a friendly helpful host, you will 100% get that here! We stayed at site 1 and we got lucky and had the mountain to ourselves. We adventure out and walk across site 5 which is near site one we’re we probably would have heard other guest , but you definitely wouldn’t see them. I would recommend buying wood with the host you save space and you get more for your buck. Make sure you read the details, I see now why the host say AWD is needed. We would definitely go back. Thank you for having us!

Site 4 Phoenix Vista 3410 ft
Learned about this spot by word of mouth from some friends. My son and I had a great time at site 4, Phoenix Vista. Beautiful views and a great spot for rooftop tents. If you don’t have leveling blocks or recovery boards, there are plenty of rocks for leveling. Jon was super nice, accommodating, and communicative on the way in as far as directions once on-property. He delivered plenty of wood for the night and next day (left around lunch). We will be back for sure. Site 3 is about 100 yards up the hill and is more flat, which would also be good for vehicles or ground tents. It was empty so a good place for playing around. Next time we will book the Peak site to give it a try.

What a view!
We loved our stay on Jon’s land. Such amazing views of the vast mountains and valleys. It was a great escape to disconnect and recharge. Jon is an amazing host with increasingly positive energy. He even saved the day by driving up and jumping my car when my battery died. My son and I definitely want to return and stay at one of his other beautiful sites!

On top is right!
Jon gave great detailed instructions on how to find the site! Very happy with the view, it was stunning. Jon delivered firewood just as it was getting dark and even got it started for me. I’m so appreciative of that! Will definitely be back!
