I believe I was told, Queen Mary granted this land to the Gaddy family many moons ago. It stayed in the family until June 2017. Cherokee Indians use to camp here in our garden area. Pottery shards have been found there and many arrowheads have been found throughout the property. (Cherokee is 22 miles away as the crow flies.) This property is 70+ acres about a third of the way up Gaddy mountain, all of the way to ridge line. The views are phenomenal… one can see many mountain ranges, the steeples in downtown Waynesville, farms, and near the ridge line you can see Lake Junaluska. Most of the land is forestland; the rest is pastures, fields, gardens, and yards at each of the cabins. There are a few cabins, barns & sheds, 4 fishing ponds, plus many animals both wild and tame… horses, donkeys, goats, bobcats, chickens, bears, deer, coyote

There are many wildflowers, especially in the spring. All of the water on the property comes from our mountain where there are natural springs, so this mineral water is unbelievably pure. We are in the process of building an old west town and a stage area for bands to play. Plus, we will be posting our Website soon at OldMountainHome.com; which will feature videos of the property.
