Moon Lake Forest is an 11 acre property with 1.6 acre springfed body of water breeming with life. This lot is heavily wooded and deer are a frequent site walking through the mix of poplar, oak, maple, Pines, and Sycamore. A few flowering trees exist as well depending on the season. The lake has a fully walkable trail around it, and a delightful curved bank cuts into it to form a topographical moon shape. This bank is full of pine and Cypress but is thin enough to make an excellent camp site, allowing for an enjoyable night song of frogs and crickets and a spectacular view of the stars. If you prefer a spot further from the view of the property's house, there is a steep hill upward towards the property boundary that has a few flat grounds ideal for camping. If you want more land to explore, the property is about 4 minutes walk away from the walker creek trail head through the Uwharrie national forest, a perfect hike to forage for mushrooms! Just a drive away is the popular photography spot of Pisgah Covered Bridge road, a historic bridge over a small creek that is only open to foot traffic.Set up your tent near the bank of a pond under the stars within a small pine forest. The campsite is about a 2 minute walk from the parking area near the main house, but has a flat walkable trail consisting of stepping stones or gravel. This primitive site features a simple designated area for a fire ring. From the camp site you can still see the main property but under the trees we promise you will have complete privacy. You are free to explore the property, but mind the property markers to avoid encroaching neighboring land! For a larger hike, this property is within walking distance to the Walker's Creek trailhead, which meanders through the Uwharrie national forest and crosses Walker's Creek which is surrounded by beautiful evergreen mountain laurels year round. A short drive away is the popular pisgah covered bridge.
